I knew what to look for from listening to what people said in phase 3 and I know I definitely arrived on a ship to limsaI'd imagine you actually do have the legacy story, you just expected more of a difference than there is.
We need something done to correct this problem for those of us that are legacy! At least acknowledgement that it's going to be fixed would be nice, especially seeing as how we're going to be progressing further into the story very soon.
In phase 3 this character THM 28 did not get the different opening, however I did get the changed dialogue. I had made it up to the level 31 or 32 quest of the main story. This time I didn't get the new intro and I didn't get the different dialogue I'm just some new adventure that never did anything ever. It is very frustrating.
Hah thought his was odd since I had the 1.0 character reference when I did phase 3 but now they don't even notice. Doesn't bother me except I would of liked to see it is all but no biggy that's just the beginning of a grand adventure.![]()

Here's another take.
I'm wondering if I got the correct intro also. I had a legacy Highlander that I changed to a Miqote (had to, loved the big guy but was too stiff looking). When I started the new story, I didn't notice the "uh... you look familiar.. derp" from the NPC's. Maybe I was scrolling too fast or don't remember (it was 6 AM in the morning after all). At any rate, wondering if anyone did the same like me and noticed this.
UPDATE: Saw the Legacy opening and rather burned I didn't get that intro either. I know Male Miqote didn't exist in 1.0 but still pretty annoying. I hope that's the only thing that's different but so far even the dialogue doesn't appear different.

SNAPPY COMEBACKS! I got nothing... >_>

It's like we never existed.![]()
Hello, if you're reading this, then you should know this isn't part of the post.

Search for ARR Legacy Opening Movie on youtube, it's that one![]()

If you ask me, it kind of feels like the Tattoo is a bit meaningless to those who didn't get the Cutscene. We weren't there to exit through the rift so there is no explanation on how they gotten the same exact same tattoo as those who did.
Hello, if you're reading this, then you should know this isn't part of the post.

I ran through the story during Phase 3 twice, once with a fresh character (on the first weekend) and then again with my "Legacy" character later. Only differences I remember are:
- New character starts on carriage/boat/whatever, asked a question, obtain a ring, ends up in town.
- 1.0 character teleports into the forest, like the New Beginning trailer. It lasts a couple seconds and then you immediately end up in town just like the normal cutscene. You are not asked a question nor obtain any ring. You get an additional few seconds of cutscene but miss out on the entire "going to town" sequence.
- The story is then completely identical.
- NPCs gave me the "Hmm you seem familiar"/"You remind me of them" stuff in both sets of story, completely identical.
- Until Minfillia, NPCs do not remember who you are, ever. You are always treated like a new adventurer.
- If you are "legacy", Minfillia will tell you that she remembers you (power of the echo or something I guess) but that she must pretend that she doesn't because of everybody else. This is about two lines of dialogue. Story was then once again completely identical. It's a bit of a cop out, but I imagine SE didn't want to have to create whole separate cutscenes and dialogue through the whole game.
I don't know what the exact trigger is, whether its just about being 1.0 or if you need Dalamud horn or whatever, but unfortunately, the differences in story are completely minor and near non-existant. Those saying "none of the NPCs remember me" -- this seems to be the case regardless.
Disclaimer: This was my experience. If there is truly a bug, I could be wrong, but it seems designed this way.
