Same here I have not got any different CS, some of the people do say that I feel familiar, however no one recognizes me as yet. I did finish the story and be van darnus. My opening CS was the boat.

I don't think you completed the quest. Mine says:
10/20/2012Masamune Branford has completed the Maelstrom quest "United We Stand (Limsa Lominsa)"!
10/20/2012Masamune Branford has acted jointly with members of other Grand Companies to destroy the lunar transmitter inside Castrum Novum!
I'm assuming you didn't turn in the quest? Or I can't recall, maybe the one you have is merely unlocking the quest?

Yes, thanks Camate for finally saying something official.
Now, if maybe you (or somebody else from SE) would be so kind as to explain to me where the hell my characters where in the 5 years that passed? They were not sent forward in time, as it seems, so where the hell have they been? And why does Mother Miounne make me register at the adventurers guild in Gridania again although I did so in 1.0 already? Normally I would just tell her and show her the (now-defunct) linkpearl from back then....
And why don't Yda and Papalymo recognize me? I mean, being the guy that was right there when they originally came to Gridania, crashed into the Black Shroud with their airship and where attacked by a treant should be enough for them to remember me, even after 5 years, no? After all, if I am not a Warrior of Light/Legacy Char, the amnesia magic isn't affecting me, so people should remember me clearly, no?
Honestly, I think I'll just delete my legacy chars. If I am going to be treated like a bloody newbie just because I didn't do one quest, I may as well start a new char entirely. At least then it won't have plotholes the size of a sea serpent.
Ahh, but apologies. Thanks again, Camate. But honestly, was it necessary to wait this long to post this simple clarification?

If I recall, they announced there would be a special story for those who completed the 7th umbral storyline. The missions ending with futures perfect were available the day 1.0 launched. New 7th umbral quests were added practically every 1.0 patch update. The 7th umbral storyline was the main story.
If you beat all of the 7th umbral storyline you received the "once in a lifetime" achievement and the Dalamud horn." "United we Stand" wasn't even the end of the 7th umbral storyline (still was a few more quests and another battlefield). Thus, technically, SE made it easier to obtain the "legacy storyline." If you didn't play the 7th umbral storyline, your character being teleported 5 years in the future wouldn't make sense; hense why you don't get the "legacy" story.

If you didn't complete the 7th umbral storyline (which is 5 times the size of the storyline capping off with futures perfect) the legacy storyline wouldn't make sense to the player. The 7th umbral storyline was the "once in a lifetime" content promotes for an entire year during 1.0 that climaxed with a battle in the sky vs nael can Darnus underneath meteor.

Wow... how utterly disappointing....
I had trouble finding people to complete that content.
Tbh, I kinda wish they didn't give people who didn't clear the storyline the tattoo. It makes it seem like they were somehow special, going along w/ the whole 'Warriors of Light' bit. =\
Now that I know that my legacy character isn't really a "legacy character"- well, I dunno, the tattoo feels rather pointless. -_-;
I dunno, I find it a bit unfair but that's my disappointment talking mostly.
It sucks and it's disappointing but I'll get over it. ~_~;

The legacy cutscenes toward the end of the game wouldn't make sense if you didn't beat certain bosses in 1.0, which is why they probably did it this way.Wow... how utterly disappointing....

I would personally like it if we can get a story on what the heck we were doing for the past 5 years. Just for closure and all. I know we've been gone for five years but it seems a bit odd that no one remembers who we were even though we were not warriors of light and were friends in arms with them once upon a time.
