Fixing Legacy Characters Story

Actually, it wouldn't let me reply to it earlier, I had assumed it had been closed.

It is not closed (at the time of this writing). You can tell because there is no lock icon on it. That you couldn't post on it is likely caused by a different reason.

Well, at least this thread ( http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...zed-as-Legacy/ ) is now marked as "Accepted Bugs", maybe this is a good sign?

Glad to see it got moved to accepted bugs. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon.

Remember though that being moved to the "Accepted Bugs" subforum only means they'll check it at some point. Only if it later get's moved into the "Confirmed/Planning to Adress" subforum will they actually work on fixing it. So keep your hopes low, just in case. Better to expect less and be positively surprised than to expect much and be let down.

One interesting thing is that most posts that have been moved to the "Accepted Bugs" subforum are closed and a moderator posted something along these lines in it:

I'm also a 1.0 character but not legacy. I did not get the 1.0 story intro and instead got the boat to limsa and the ring.

I didn't even know the difference existed until reading this. Kinda dissappointed now but I guess there's little point in fixing this now as everyone is past the point where it matters.

On the contrary, we have the ability to play most of the storyline cutscenes from our inn room, and I'd go back through the entire thing if they fixed it

Not true.
When I noticed by the wrong intro that my characters were bugged again (same as in Beta 3), I immediately stopped playing them and instead put what little time I could actually play (thank you, error 1017) into a new character until such a time this hopefully gets fixed. So no, not everyone is beyond that point. :-p

sorry for the english. i finish 1.0 main story quest and defeated White raven and also obtain legacy status. at the beginning legacy should be the same until i help Cid obtain his airship his memory is back and remember i have fought the white raven with him during 1.0. after that the battle of Ultimate weapon, Crystal hydealyn has restore the memories of the 3 GC leader and the dawn's member. player was recognized as the warrior of light that safe the Eorzae twice one in 1.0 and other one is defeated Ultimate weapon.

that it is not a bug, everyone legacy or not who completed the main storyline in 1.0 gets different cutscene than the rest of us, i am a legacy player but i haven't completed to story after patch 1.23 i think, there is a quest that we should have completed in order to get this new cutscnese at the begining, so players from 1.0 who are not legacy may have had this new cutscene as well, i don't think this is a bug at all
p.s. every char from 1.0 has a tattoo, so no point in thisw thread everyone who is wondering read my post

But that doesn't make sense. The whole reason we have the mark is because we where sent forward in time. We are warriors of light. Why wouldn't our cutscenes reflect that?
Did my character just meander about till getting a lift to ul'dah? Why wouldn't I see him appear?

Instead of coming here and storming this thread, you should actually read it (the whole 15+ pages of it).

A. Nowhere SE or anyone, except you here, has ever talked about a quest that we had to complete to get the WoL (Warriors of Light) cutscenes.

B. People who never completed 1.0 story reported getting the WoL cutscenes.

C. People who actually completed the story reported not getting the WoL cutscenes.

D. SE mods moved the bug report about this problem to the "Accepted Bugs" sub-forum and for that matter, already acknowledged during beta phase 3 that 1.0 characters not getting the WoL cutscenes was a bug (yet they didn't correctly addressed it , if not at all...).


Now if YOU think it's not a bug, that's up to you, but it's just something you got out of your hat when many here prefer to base their claims from facts. (And SE also happens to disagree with you).
