Fixing Legacy Characters Story

I keep hearing you need to be van darnis or at least get to him, can we get a dev to comment on this, Please, because from what I remember Yoshi-P never mentioned any extra requirement to being 1.0 and I think this whole mess is just really really bad form on SE's part.

It's a bug that is still persistent. Out of my three 1.0 characters, only 1 got the 1.0 intro and extra text from the NPCs. The other 2 got the CS as if they were fresh characters and to make things worse, they didn't have their Legacy Tattoos or the Legacy Chocobo for a good while. However, out of nowhere, the tattoos showed up and the legacy chocobo was delivered by mail after a couple hours so it seems like the game had to remember their actual status..

Mostly posting just to keep this thread alive, but seriously SE. We're not asking that you drop everything to fix this bug right now. We understand (or at least most of us do) that it's a minor issue and that there are more pressing matters that you need to deal with. But really, how long does it take to post a few lines to let us know what is going on? An official word would go a long way towards placating everyone (and not just about this issue either).

I agree. My character is still not being acknowledged in cut scenes and the inn still shows the new character stuff.

I would just like to at least hear that they're aware or looking into it or if there was certain requirements to achieve the special story let us know. Absolute silence just shows a lack of caring.

Have to say I was kinda bummed when I didn't get at the 1.0 opening, though I haven't checked my other characters yet. (and tbh pobably won't until I get my main rolling properly again.)

I'd kinda like to see it pop up in the inn rooms at least, I kinda wanted people to remember Riaa but I'd kinda settle if I got to at least look at the opening with her in it. :<

I'm a little sad now. I had no idea how much was actually different until I saw those screencaps.

By the way, you keep hearing different "requirements" because there are people who don't want to just believe that all 1.0 characters count in this. It was said that story-wise, even if you weren't there gameplay-wise, all of us were part of the Battle of Carteneau. All of us were transported by Louisoix. That's why we all have survivor marks (that's what the tattoo is).
It's like how I was able to use Omnislash to beat Sephiroth at the end of FFVII, although gameplay-wise I never actually acquired Omnislash (don't judge me ).

Therefore, we should all have the slightly altered dialogue and the opening. It may be small, but if we are all Warriors of Light, we should all be treated so, so it must be a bug. That, and it was definitely accepted as a bug during beta. So there's no reason for people to keep trying to say that there were certain requirements.

I, for one, am a little sad that after all the time we spent together, Minfilia treated me like a stranger. I'd heard that there was some dialogue that mentioned that some people knew you, but have to pretend they don't, but I'd assumed maybe it was super subtle and I'd just missed it when I went through the storyline in P3. Now I'm sad all over again... XD I play games for the story, so I'd rather have little things like this happen for me if they're supposed to...

I wouldn't even mind redoing the entire Main Quest line from the opening scene if they could fix the issue without reseting our levels and our other progress. Somehow being a 1.0 character and being treated like a new adventurer disconnects me, and I assume others ,from the story. I'm starting to just click through everything I feel no connection to the story anymore. Where as when everyone has odd amnesia I was engrossed in the story and waiting to find out what happened next.

As far as I know, the dialogue may have been a tiny bit different from the new character version while talking with Miounne, but I also got the cart intro. I was rushing through it so fast though, that I didn't realize until it was too late since NPC quest dialogue does not show up in the chat log. I'd be happy if I can view the 1.0 character opening cutscene (or whatever 1.0 players should get as returning players) later via Inn Room even if it is fixed later, since the launch is obviously top priority at the moment
