Thread: Favorite 1.0 memories?

Meeting some of my best mates, members for the current Paragon ls (and Anima FC) On Sargatanas. They really made me stay in the game and were actually some of the first players I ever talked to way back. I spent about 1 month in Grid only when I was new! And quite honestly people didn't exactly chat to others hahaha. I remember talking to this one guy with the same name as me (Lann) and then someone else joined our conversation and from there it went on till today. Good times =) Also, exploring the world was great fun. So many sights to see. And I suppose when we got airships to travel and didn't have to run absolutely everywhere. And Chocobos! Now that was amazing!

Looping music.
Looping music in dungeons.
Prog Rock battle themes.
A different battle theme per region.
A different levequest theme per region.
Did I mention looping music?

I liked how the best gear made everyone look mismatched. Honestly, I'm not a fan of darklight everything including accessories.

I liked a lot of literal realism that 1.0 had (i.e. anyone can wear anything), even if it was a stupid gameplay mechanic.

Going on screenshot excursions with friends to every corner of Eorzea, soloing everything short of the bosses in strongholds, and beating Ifrit with a party of 6. Good times.

It was probably last year's Halloween event for me. Halloween is by far my favorite holiday, so it was pretty cool seeing all that SE had done for the event. Not only did I enjoy the quests, but I love the aesthetic additions to all the cities, and the event theme that played in the cities. I hadn't played the game too much before that event, but during the event it was hard to put down, and after spending so much time with the game, it's become one of my favorite games. Unfortunately, I lost my Pumpkin helmet, and didn't have time to get a new one. :/

I'm really looking forward to a similar event this year, too.

Torn between when I uninstalled it because it was so broken, or when the servers were finally shut down.

Fire dancing with friends!

I loved the Halloween event, and the Grand Company questline leading up to the White Raven fight.

It was a trainwreck to start with, but I have a lot of fond memories of the game from about 1.17 on. As fantastic as ARR is (and I adore it), I think I'll always miss the old game just a little.

Watching the patches progress with Dalamud growing closer, imperial ships in the sky etc.. and getting White Ravens
