This would be nice, especially if it would slowly build up something akin to a lorebook from the sections we've completed. I always adore the collections you find in EQ2.

The Selbina Clay Tablet quest will forever and always hold a special place in my heart as without it, it would have been that much harder to get my AF Legs. Though I have heard it's easier to get to that little island in Batallia after WotG came out. Even though I loved the quest. Much more than the Gustaberg Tour and Sandy Party quests. And yes as stated before the EQ2 collection quests we're loads of fun. Simple quests like these, in my opinion, should be drawn out like the Selbina Clay Tablet as it takes one quest and actually turns it into 15, and not only did you get your little bit of lore when you found the tablet but also a bit more when you turned it in as well as your Gil reward and a bit of rep to boot. By making it a key item that bit of lore you got would be missed by most as everyone would most likely do a turn in en-mass and after 3-4 turn ins would be clicking through the text just to get through it. Much like everyone does in WoW. Load up on quests. Finish em. Click through mass turn in. Repeat. Believe it or not there is some lore going on in those chat and text boxes at the beginning and end of each quest that the majority of people miss out on because its "In the way" or "Slowing down my EXP/HR".
I have the link in my Signature, but for the sake of linking...

In regard of the dev. response about "more life in Eorzea", i think that the interactivity with the world is fundamental to complete it imo. For example, if they'll add some ruins around, it would be nice to explore them and actually find something (to collect). Or in the same manner, we could find some secret/hidden places in which we could find some kind of items (randomly maybe). An example could be, you find an unique spring in a cave and you can take that 'special water' for crafting (cooking or alchemy) or stuff.
A living world is also a world in which we can interact with its parts.
This has been in my thoughts since the first days after the official release.
The amazing scenery has kept me fairly interested in exploring, but it can only keep you going for so long. Knowing that there is nothing to actually discover that will influence your gaming in any way, nothing to find hidden in nooks and bushes, lowers motivation. To place some treasure chests, collectable objects and other things in various places would be such a boost to exploration.
Exactly. Exploration is good and encouraging if there is something concrete to search and find around or in the farest corner of the map. In FF11 there were random coffers in dungeons for example. But they could add also some special places to find for gatherers.. like a hidden lake where you can fish unique species or a place to log some special trees or a secret field to harvest particular flowers and herbs (graphically represented in game of course). This has been in my thoughts since the first days after the official release.

I would like to know if there is something about it from devs, if possible.![]()
A nice idea but with the current Zones i wouldn't want to do it and with no Chocobos all that exploring would be a pain in the ass.
