Bards, Checking In!

I figured it out actually. If you're on any of the main quests after level 30, you will have to finish w/e you're on in order to get the bard quest.

Beware using Foe's Requiem while soloing... it will aggro everything around you.

Not just solo, beware using it in dungeons outside of the boss fights. It will agro mobs through walls, floors, ceilings, everything.

Well Darkov thats good in my situation, lately I've been doing dungeons without tanks. I've essentially become the tank, take 2 other dps classes with me and a healer, sometimes we're all dps classes and we have an arcanists who uses its pet as a tank and heals me while I kite the other mobs. I just love my utility as an Archer so far and I have a feeling I'll have even more fun being a bard. Just DPs doesnt define what you can really do with some ingenuity and skill.

On a separate note somewhat though, What level should I train my pugilist to. I mean eventually I want it to be 50 as well as my archer side but are the higher level Puglist skills useful to a bard? How does the whole leveling process even work once you become a bard?

Mantra from monk and Blood for Blood from Dragoon should be useful.

I usually love my simple set of skills:

Internal release
Featherfoot
Second wind

Those 3 save you a lot of trouble.

True is that blood for blood give you a ton of damages with raging strike, and Mantra ease the job for the healer, but usually you can go nice with those. °.°/

New Bard here!
Been a fan of FF bards for a long time. Was really looking forward to this class, but have been mostly disappointed with it so far.

1). We should have a harp to equip along with the bow
2). This job has no synergy. Doesn't feel like you're playing a bard most of the time. Nothing wrong with having a bard class that uses archery...but as it is now it's 90% a ranger class and sometimes you get to feel like a bard for a few simple minutes then....nothing again. Granted I only have a few songs unlocked at the moment. But my buffing/debuffing abilities are near non existent. What's the point of creating a job that barely brings anything to the table? :/

BUT! I believe in SE and am remaining hopefully for the future! Hoping there will be some updates and love thrown to us Bards. And I still need to check out higher level play too of course. Soon!

Everyone still liking your bard? Man, I gotta say, our AOE rotation is sweet! Still no sign of a archer/bard mount tho, looks like Square really did just put it in for 1 class and stiff the rest of us :P

Future bard feeling like he's wasted hours leveling his CNJ for BRD only to find out it's been replaced by Pug.... So do I have to remake now or is getting a third class an option?
Any ideas on how to get back into form swiftly?

Just pick up Pugilist, run some fates and hunting logs for 2 or 3 hours you'll be 15 in no time.

40brd checking in, should be 50 by the end of this weekend the fates are calling to me now from work!! I for one really enjoy the mechanics of BRD this time around. Its like xi brd and xi rng had a sexy baby. In fate groups I feel really useful with the MP regen and the 10% elemental dmg boost to party members. I really really wish they would give us a better limit break i feel useless in ifrit. Other then that loveing the class.
