Wohoo Lvl 15! Should I take Arch to 30 first or start PUG?
Wohoo Lvl 15! Should I take Arch to 30 first or start PUG?
Well, since the main story brought me to Ul´dah at level 16 I figured I might as well get started on the PUG part of the bard. With the 50% exp bonus you get when leveling another class it took me a little over an hour to get to level 11. So I guess it will be maybe another hour or two before I reach level 15. Of course I have no idea if it was the right/most efficient thing to do. Maybe it would have been better to wait until I was at least lvl 20 in ARC before switching. But I was in Ul´dah. The PUG guild was in Ul´dah. It was like fate brought us together...
Level 38 bard, and enjoying it!
However, can someone list at what level you get what songs? So far all i got is 1, Ballad, which was level 30. Was kinda hoping for more songs already. The random FF14 wikis and fansites list certain songs at certain levels, but i havent got'em at the level they have listed.
You get Foe Requiem at lv35, just talk to the Bard NPC near Quarrymill. I'll assume you get one every 5 lvls.
I just went to the Quarrymill. Nobody to talk to there. No quest or anything.
With every job, you open a new quest every 5 levels to get a new skill.
You get 1 skill when you unlock the Job at 30, then you open another quest for a new skill at 35/40/45/50.
As far as I know, you have to do these quests in order, so maybe there's one you missed at the Archer's Guild in Gridania?
I believe I read that you get an exp bonus that scales based on how many levels your highest class is above any secondary classes.
So for example, if you had a level 15 and went back to a level 1, you'd get a 50% exp bonus. But if you got your main to 30 before swapping, you'd get a 100% bonus.
If that's actually how it works (and someone feel free to correct me if it's not), then I would say it's probably in your best interest to stick with archer to 30 unless you find yourself having trouble leveling.
If you find yourself having trouble leveling, then you can level Pug just to 8 for the heal or Lnc just to 2 for the slow to help you continue leveling archer to 30 before going back for your secondary.
Thank you, I will take PUG to 8 since with exp bonus stuff all around it should be fairly quick.
incorrect, you get he 50% bonus on everything but your high classI believe I read that you get an exp bonus that scales based on how many levels your highest class is above any secondary classes.

Im enjoining the brd for now ( lvl 38 and going up ) , it's basically a dps whit some utility , namely mage's ballad , you'll act as dps , while you keep your song up , and it's pretty usefull till now , up to cutter's cry i've been having fun , while my healer , and mage keep pleasing my for the song .
Sure , i 'd like to have a more of a supportive role like secondary heal or buff/debuff , but i still find it funny , and i guess bard we will have their safe multiple spot later on on raids .
We'll see how it evolve![]()
