Bards, Checking In!

You are all talking about how bards support via buffs, but lets not forget that you can support via debuffs as well. Bards attacks add debuffs to the mobs we attack. While they did remove a major part of one of our attacks (no longer making them take 10% more dmg) there is still some other major difference our class will add to the group. (Making mobs do 10% less dmg for instance.)

I think we will add plenty to a group, and any 24 man raid without 3 bards would notice the difference end game. ^^

So why does bard still have a healing limit break -_-?

Can we get to level 3 limit with an 8 man party? If so I guess healing limit on Bard is a safety net if both healers die somehow. Already plenty of DPS limits available but it does mean we will probably never use a limit break

Will be interesting if they bring in Musketeer to see what that gets as surely that must be ranged physical dps too.

Future Bard checking in! Luckily I didn't have time to level my secondary class over 4 yet so change to pugilist isn't that big of a deal. Can't wait to play today!

A future Bard checking in! I can't believe they changed the secondary job requirement, cause I levelled CNJ it was a bit annoying since it had the same starting city as the Archer! Now will have to go back again and level PUG and LNC just to be on the safe side. But either way, I guess in the far future it would not matter since I was going to level these classes anyways!

Felow future BRD player here!

I have to admit that I was surprised to hear that BRD is now pulling skills from PGL and LNC. It just seemed more logical to me that SE might add a Ranger or Musketeer eventually to allow ARC to have more options other than BRD's "major support/minor dps". Changing the BRD to "major dps/minor support" was one of the last things I expected. And it was done rather suddenly, and without warning! I suppose that's how MMO changes go sometimes, though.

Like others in this thread, in open beta 4 I leveled my CNJ in anticipation of BRD, but realistically, it wasn't that much time lost. I can certainly do the same with PGL and LNC without much trouble. Getting PGL to 42 is going to require some time and effort for me. I prefer casters and ranged classes (which is why the BRD appealed to me so much to begin with) but I'll likely see it through. Mantra just sounds too good not to get!

This is so confusing. Why would they make a change like this without telling anyone...? Further, why do Bards have to level 3 classes and not just two?
