Are we 100% sure BRD is linked with PGL? Because I went through every single skill at http://www.xivdb.com and BRD is only shown LNC and CNJ. also can confirm that's the tool tip I was getting in game.

Bard checking in here with question mark on which supporting job I should go with (Conj, Drg or Pug)?!
However I would def. love to be 50/50 (DPS/Support)
I think so. They said that Phase 4 was prety much the same as release content. When I hopped on BRD in open beta I could only cross class LNC and PGL skills. When doing a FATE where some friends died, they were all "You are a Bard you can use raise and cure!" and I was like "Yeah ..... not anymore"Are we 100% sure BRD is linked with PGL? Chubby Bard is here!

Bard is tied to LNC - PUG since beta 4.
Initially, I was sold on archer/bard once I learned that we would not have to buy arrows. Keeping track of arrows is an incredible nuisance, I think. So, I played archer to about 24 in Phase 3. I liked it, but I grew increasingly worried about what I was reading at the beta forums about bard (which I have since disregarded). I was almost 100% sure I was going for monk in the weeks between Phase 3 and 4, but something changed LITERALLY when I went to create my character on the 16th. I chose archer. I guess maybe I felt like maybe I had unfinished business, but there ya go. Moving forward, I'm happy with my choice, and I think I'll make a cool bard.
I was thinking about starting BRD for my next 50. I played 1.0 till they started charging us again and I have a LNC at 50 already. I guess my main question is what do you need to unlock the jobs such as BRD and DRG? I know there is a quest but do I have to have, say for BRD, Archer to 30 and then another class to a certain level?
EDIT: Nvm found the info I was looking for.

I thought support didn't just mean has a few buffs, but that we should be able to secondary heal, raise if someone screws up (as apposed to the primary healer having to dump mp and stop healing for 8 secs to raise) then dissipate enmity, bind and/or sleep targets to support tank, buff allies to increase their effectiveness. Damage capacity should not be close to rivaling the DPS jobs. I find the combat variability much more interesting than the DPS it seems to have become.
However, these are only my thoughts and unlikely to be shared by most, but this was the only job I was interested in. Just venting.
@Viridiana
Thank you. Also do you know what range that heal-buff Mantra effect has?

Heyheyhey new bard checking in
Our heals were never worth casting; only WHM (and maybe SCH) can Raise in battle; ARC is still the class that unlocks Quelling Strikes (though there's not much else in the way of enmity management); we still have Bind (never had Sleep); and we still buff our allies to increase their effectiveness. We also gained a buff to increase incoming heals, potentially party-wide, by 10% for 15 seconds; as well as some self-healing so we aren't distracting the healer from the tank as often. Oh, and they buffed our DPS in the process.I thought support didn't just mean has a few buffs, but that we should be able to secondary heal, raise if someone screws up (as apposed to the primary healer having to dump mp and stop healing for 8 secs to raise) then dissipate enmity, bind and/or sleep targets to support tank, buff allies to increase their effectiveness. *snip*
