Looking forward to Bard. I guess I'm one of the few that don't really mind the CNJ change...even though I leveled one to 15 during P4.

Anyone have any insights on stat allocation?
So far just using all stat points for dex. ><

Looking forward to the class, a bit disappointed that it's less support than it used to be though...
New Archer/Bard joining the community of fellow song lovers
I was too kind of dissapointed about those recent ability changes and lesser supoort utilities of the Bard. And yeah i invested my time too into lvling a Conjurer to level 20. But are we really less supportive through those changes ?!
- All of those Conjurer skills were used by spending MP. => MP of the Bard exist to maintain the duration of his/her songs.
- We would never be really good secondary healers => We don't share the same or rather any MND Stat on our gear, so we could never take the role of a secondary healer
when we heal only 1/4 or maybe even less than the White Mage/Scholar himself.
- Skill sharing of the Pugilist => Well we get "Internal Release" through which we have the highest Crit Hit Rating of all classes/jobs and "Second Wind" for self emergency heal purposes.
Yea we have access to "Mantra" too, when we do have the time to spare to level up the Pugilist to lvl 42 ...We also gained a buff to increase incoming heals, potentially party-wide, by 10% for 15 seconds
Finally i can just recommend us to try those changes out and it's not like we lost our purpose at all in the groups. Those kind of adjustments are never final and let's see what the future decides for us![]()

Wannabe Bard here.
Levelled CNJ to 10 first thing so I could have Protect and Cure on ARC and thought it was necessary to get to 15 anyway but looks like thats changed now. Bit disappointed we wont have Cure...I know it was very weak but I still liked having it and in low 4-man content with tanks that cant always hold aggro it did get used if the Healer died. Internal Release from PUG is really nice but it is probably my least favourite class so wouldnt have levelled it otherwise I guess.
I wish we could see other players TP so we know when to sing without being prompted.

I really agree with this. One of the things I've been thinking that separates a good Bard from an "ok" one is knowing exactly when to start / stop singing, but it's hard to know when to use Paeon unless you simply go with your own TP, which still doesn't really work.
Also it's good to see so many people are planning on playing Bard![]()
Everyone's making good points about how the Pugilist subjob is just as good for Bard as Conjurer was, too.
They seem to be making bards more of a DD then support. They honestly seem more then 70% damage and 30% support. Honestly i think that is smart at least until there is a "pure" bow damage dealing job added.
Right now every "playstyle" has options but bow users, you have to be a bard if you want to use a bow and arrow. Melee has options as far as DPS or tank and casters have options as DPS or healers. Archers have bard.
Telling everyone that wants to use a bow that you are stuck being support with no abilities to be competative in DPS would be a dumb marketing move for launch. Honestly i think they should of launched with bard being more pure support while having a ranger there for more pure damage.
So can you guys confirm that the pugilist is required for a bard now? I see some websites and people say it's LNC.

I think brd will be more like 60/40 dd/support after they raise the lvl cap, as things are brd only get a few songs by 50. So who knows maybe it will end more of a support.

Future Bard from Malboro. I love the changes as Pug has some great skills for survivability. My only ? Is are we the only Job that requires a seperate weapon?
