Another Bard here reporting for duty!
Also interested in the stat point allocation .. was thinking Dex would be 1, with Piety no. 2 for mana pool only (didn't find any source mentioning piety effecting attack power) ..

Another Bard here! Very excited to start this off tomorrow![]()
Well I believe it depends what kind of Bard you want to be, if you want just a ranged DPS go with Dex only. If you want to be support heavy (more mana = longer songs) go with Pie.
IMHO I say Bard should be balanced to be able to do both not the best DPS but also not pure support.

				Seriously... cannot

Bard checking in! Leveled Pugilist to 20 in open beta and then realized that I blindly leveled Bard's subclass! Woot! Once 5am EST hits I'll be going hardcore on archer!
Question for you bards out there: Which crafts do you think are best suited for Bard? I plan on Leatherworking/Carpenter/Goldsmithing/Alchemist.

Here's the link. I honestly don't know when 2.0 kicked in - whether it was after or before this guys testing.

I noticed you've gotten to 50 with Brd. Kyree. What's your experience with the stat modifiers.

DEX increases ranged damage and PIE increases MP. Both are valuable for Bard depending on if you are focusing on DPS or Support.
i was thinking about the movement from support to a more dps oriented bard and one thought kept coming to my mind: in the four person instances there really isn't any need for a support character yet. sure there will be for those at end game instances, but looking at it from the perspective of a player who is going through the game for the first time, i was honestly trying to figure out if these small groups would have gotten more benefit from me being a second dps only toon or one with lower dps and a few songs. yes i know that this will have a much bigger impact at end game and in raids and full groups, i am only thinking about the leveling up process from 30-45ish where groups in the duty finder recruit you as dps since there is no option for 'support' nor has there been a need for it in the easy dungeons.

Bard is absolutely my favorite class to play, and I do the best in parties with it as well.![]()
"I know not what brings men joy. Of what drives them to great deeds, of what legacies they hope to leave, I know less yet. But I do know this: The true hero of this tale was the man forgotten."
I absolutely agree. Focus DPS early! Piety will come for end game. But for the first half of bard - in those four man parties - the support class idea is redundant. I know this might sound blasphemous to 1.0 bards, but dps is going to be more beneficial at the start and more practical. But that might just be my opinion.i was thinking about the movement from support to a more dps oriented bard and one thought kept coming to my mind: in the four person instances there really isn't any need for a support character yet. sure there will be for those at end game instances, but looking at it from the perspective of a player who is going through the game for the first time, i was honestly trying to figure out if these small groups would have gotten more benefit from me being a second dps only toon or one with lower dps and a few songs.
