Thing is, it's not just 1.00's openings that are so different in over all quality. The current dev team updated the old game with while their resources were split developing both games with new cutscene's and even those were freaking GORGEOUS!

Like this one featuring the old versions main boss. Skip to 5 minutes in to see some breath taking fire effects.

An other example with a compilation of various well designed cutscene's by the same current team with the old version focusing on the main villian. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4UtKf_sSX8

Comparing to them 2.0, the new scene's do feel cheap. Odd too considering it's the exact same people responsible for both. My guess is because with the old version they patched in only a handful of scene's every few months, so they had time to really make them special.

Yet with 2.0 their busy making hours worth all to get ready for launch. So their rushing through making them. Hopefully we'll see improvement when they start updating via patches and have more time to iron them out properly.
