I liked the CS's and the VA's much more in 1.0. Everything else, except for fishing, I like far more in 2.0.

The interesting part of your commentary is that... In essence, the 1.0 'opening cutscene' is... The entire first eight levels of ARR, mostly. I could notice how the storytelling and flow went and where the particular plot devices have been displaced to.
I'm... I'm not against that. It's a slower start, that doesn't actually remains as slow, so that's okay for me
They matter about as much as any other cutscene if not more...it's your first impression to the game. The glitchy, not-so-compelling opening scene for Tera basically set my expectations for the rest of the game.
1.0 memories , i miss my cookies under the bed :P

I think the voice acting is sub par overall for a FF game so far. I think the thing lacking is the direction. For some of the voices, it seems like the actors are not sure about what character they are playing, or have a general idea of what type of accent they are going to be used. There are a lot of muddled accents in the game so far, and although i like the British and other english related accents in the game, i feel like the world is vast enough to require additional accents. Just like in Game of Thrones, not everyone is from Westeros. I can't see people from Ul'dah and Gridania talking the same, although the limsa people have it down quite well with their Irish/Scottish.
With all the money they spent, i can't believe it takes that much more to put together a A-class voice acting job, or a more-comprehensive one. With the technology pioneered by the bioware people, it should be easy to record people from anywhere in the world, and get some great actors.

Ya the beginning isn't great in 2.0 either. But I start getting into it starting with the airship CS. I never really got any good feels from 1.0 except for the part with the Ascian in Lord Errant and then never hear from them againSo you get these from the ARR openings? It's certainly a much more straight-forward intro, but the only interesting/mysterious part seems to be about the Twins and Hydaelyn, which is only briefly touched on. There also is no voice-acting and I can't even recall much in the way of music being played. Maybe there are still alterations to be implemented for release, but it kind of didn't even feel finished to me yet.![]()
