What about legacy accounts with all crafts at 50 and good crafting gear? They will have a giant head start on everyone and will be able to corner the market for a long time making all the gil they can ever want.

Legacy players will just give the usual counter saying that they will help the economy and churn out goodies for the newbies at low cost (sureee). This whole debate's been played out like a broken record since the beta forum :>
I honestly don't see what the issue is. It's not the markets, because they said they are only opening transfers once the markets are stabilized.
The issue is the title "legacy" which unfortunately has been transfered to also include anyone who played in 1.0. maybe if legacy was still achievable then people won't care. It's a group thing...people don't like to not be able to join a group and get pissed off. Some people in the group get a superiority complex and that pisses everyone off. Legacy status is the "racism" of FFXIV ARR - and it works both ways...everyone just seems to hate everyone else.
I still believe that if SE hadn't segregated or labeled people this would never have been an issue. This is way we can't have nice things because people are idiots. (and I'm talking about everyone - legacy, 1.0 and new players here) It's just the online way of things
But this will all calm now when people have something to do i.e play the game. And you are right Molly, in a few months no one will care.
You can't find happiness until you know sadness and you can't have true laughter until you know the taste of your own tears.
I have to say as someone who busted a** to get a L20 Miner, Blacksmith, Weaver, Goldsmith, and Armorsmith during P4 on a non legacy server. I would get a bit pissy if some jackhole got to drop on at all 50. If someone levels faster than me at a craft and corners the market first, them is the breaks. If someone just drops in and all of a sudden he can corner the market from the start.... NO.
I plan on buying a big lot for my house and as such need a metric a**load of gil. So yeah early AH warring is very important to me, and a big part of that is first to market
Then I guess I'll just respond with this: "I'll continue to blow my Goobue horn at the start of every duty finder party until the Legacy hate stops."The issue is the title "legacy" which unfortunately has been transfered to also include anyone who played in 1.0. maybe if legacy was still achievable then people won't care. No thank god most of the RMT will stay on the legacy servers because they already have a massive stockpile of merchandise which 1.0 players obviously buy or they would not of been so active in 1.0. In fact I think its mostly RMT that tried so hard to get new players to start on legacy servers so they could have "fresh meat" to sell to. But hopefully for once SE will actively be trying to deal with rmt and bots unlike they have ever done in the past.
I forgot all about that could be one of the main reasons these few legacy people want to xfer to new servers asap they will have very little competition for housing compared to what they have on a legacy server. So yeah definitely no transfers till the housing thing is sorted out. I know damn well its not because they want to group with friends or that their servers are overcrowded because new servers have the exact same problem in fact they had to add additional new servers for people to goto.I have to say as someone who busted a** to get a L20 Miner, Blacksmith, Weaver, Goldsmith, and Armorsmith during P4 on a non legacy server.
