Thats just it though not all 1.0 people are capped 50s. I only have 1 class to 50 and am a 1.0 person on a legacy server. So your assumption of everyone on legacy being capped is flawed. That's actually a terrible excuse to use. All your friends are going to start at level 1 (or 20) so wouldn't you have more fun being the same level so you can go adventure together? The best excuse is that Legacy servers are cramming every player from 1.0 onto a few servers and there are billions of new servers so why not give us a bit of room to breathe, or, Legacy servers are so full that new chars can't be created so your friends can't physically come join you, in which case new Legacy servers should be opened with Legacy to Legacy.
This whole "Legacy would ruin the economy" is the rubbish bit though, but you need a better excuse than "I want to play with my friends even though we couldn't really level together because I'm already level 50", bad excuse!
My reasoning for not wanting Legacy players to be able to xfer before the 6 month limitation:
- 1. I want to be on the front lines of end-game; I want to push the content with new players and wear the gear first
- 2. I want to grow and challenge my character with others, not be carried through content by experienced/geared player base (this could still be done on a legacy server, but why risk it)
- 3. I want to help shape and manipulate my own economy; I want my crafting to be beneficial to my fellow crafters instead of someone having a monopoly over the marker because they have all 50s leveled
I don't hate nor am I envious of Legacy players. I want to experience a new game, with new players.I deleted my 1.0 char.
The "play with my friends" thing, they can roll legacy, cant they? Or reroll, I did. It doesn't have to be about hate of legacy. It's about wanting to have fun and enjoy the game as if it truly were a fresh start, which it is!
So far it's been pure frustration trying to get them in. Open Beta was a pure disaster especially when they opened several new servers between Saturday and Sunday. Pretty much for Hyperion if you didn't get in by around 8am pacific on friday or between 2-7am on saturday morning there were no other real long stints where the servers were open.
Once you get a certain level of progress people don't want to reroll because then they're behind. So I'm hoping the first server transfers will be free so friends can move to hyperion D:

I think its a simple solution. Just have the Legacy servers open to new players. So if you are Legacy you can have your friends play on that server.
Honestly what is it with legacy players wanting to join non legacy servers?
I can't see an honest respond Exept for the fact that Legacy players want to influence the new players.
If you say the following
.-"My friends can't play with me" Well tell your friends to make a character on your server
OR better yet, YOU create a char on they're server , You won't pay anything extra by doing that.
You guys want Square enix to find a way so you guys play on new servers without disrupting the balance.
NO TY.
I suggest Square enix Focus on better things, like making patches, balancing jobs, fixing errors.
Those saying that legacy players wont have any affect on the economy on new servers don't really understand how economies work. New server economies are fresh and they have to grow. The prices will be set by those selling and those buying. It's very easy to ruin all that when a butt load of people that 100k gil come in and re-adjust all the prices to what they want, not what the server as a whole has shaped it to.
I had a conversation with some one on legacy saying that later materials sell for 10k+ gil each. He said it as if it was normal, as if, when new servers got to that level, it was going to sell for the same amount. What he failed to understand was that on a new server, no one is going to have the money to buy things like that, so naturally the price will go down...by a lot. If legacy players pop in, then that price will stick and new crafters will be stuck playing catch up until they decided to gather for themselves. Then gatherers are put out of a job.
That's exactly what Yoshi does not want and thinking that would never happen is like a baby thinking a fire wont burn him.
Simple. I like my character with his tatoo. I like my Giantsgall Sword. My friends don't want to play on Balmung. I have to abandon my character entirely to play with my friends.
Mind you, I don't have all lv50s (PLD was my only 50 on my legacy character). I'm not exactly rich either. Hell, the most valuable thing I have is my PLD AF gear and the aforementioned sword. If I could transfer off Balmung on to Diabolos I'd do it in a snap.
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

You get gear through many quests, storylines. You can even purchase from the vendor for cheap. And as you go through the dungeons, you will get even better rar/ex gear. Probably wouldn't need to buy anything till maybe lvl 40+ and thats a big maybe. (<---Don't know what lvl the other dungeons are) So really? We can make a profit in the first few days? When you don't have much gil just starting out?
Who said he would produce LV 50 gear? All he has to do is to HQ everything between 1 and 30.So let's work this out logically. A char with every job at 50 jumps over and starts harvesting and crafting level 50 gear/weapons/consumables, that is the worry? So, who is going to buy all this level 50 gear/weapons/consumables? There will be no level 50's around to buy it. There will also be a lack of gil in the economy to pay over-inflated prices. Give it two weeks (if that) and there will be level 50 crafters on non-Legacy servers, there will be people with millions of gil, the only advantage a Legacy player really has is that they can start doing end game content, farming up items that they can really only sell to other legacy players (at least for 2 weeks).
