Solution to Legacy Players Transferring to Non-Legacy Servers

I thought I read somewhere that Yoshida already had a plan for this.

That they would wait until market's stabilized and then merge legacy/non-legacy servers...
Personally I think that is fairly decent. Gives people who want a fresh start to get a fresh start and those who want to roll with the big dogs the time to do it.

Exactly this. New servers are designated for newbies only. No legacy please. :>

Yes, I've even abandoned my lvl50s legacy account to start fresh with my friends I got to play. If you value your newbie friends more than your shiny gears and over-leveled characters then you would do the same.

Yes I see your account but you are confusing 1.0 with 1.23 all those levels were attained after 2012 prior to that your highest class was a 35 gladiator. And yes I seen burn parties hell you did that in early 1.0 on grass raptors wasn't quite so fast because if you did it too fast your conjurer would get crap for xp because of the screwed up contribution system. I am not saying the PLing was wrong hell I would of done it for sure to make up for all my xp lost due to the fatigue system. I am just saying it is obvious you used it because solo leveling in 1.0 was extremely slow compared to what those large parties could do.

Also not saying you was slow in 1.0 either just saying that with a 35 in 3 months when you spread your leveling out between a wide amount of characters you probably never seen the fatigue system much past rank 1 if at all. So you never really experienced the system and how bad it really was.

Wait you're saying I pl'ed my GLA?

Before I took that break and came back when Yoshida, there wasn't any PL you just went out with a bunch of people and grinded leves every few days.

SP was a hell of a lot harder to come by than class XP. I got almost all my battle classes to 50 when there was still fatigue.

I lvled GLA PGL and CNJ in 1.0 to like ~30 and that gave me 50 physical, this can be seen in my ffxivpro account under achievements

The issue is the title "legacy" which unfortunately has been transfered to also include anyone who played in 1.0. maybe if legacy was still achievable then people won't care. It's a group thing...people don't like to not be able to join a group and get pissed off. Some people in the group get a superiority complex and that pisses everyone off. Legacy status is the "racism" of FFXIV ARR - and it works both ways...everyone just seems to hate everyone else.

I still believe that if SE hadn't segregated or labeled people this would never have been an issue. This is way we can't have nice things because people are idiots. (and I'm talking about everyone - legacy, 1.0 and new players here) It's just the online way of things

I have to say as someone who busted a** to get a L20 Miner, Blacksmith, Weaver, Goldsmith, and Armorsmith during P4 on a non legacy server. I would get a bit pissy if some jackhole got to drop on at all 50. If someone levels faster than me at a craft and corners the market first, them is the breaks. If someone just drops in and all of a sudden he can corner the market from the start.... NO.

I plan on buying a big lot for my house and as such need a metric a**load of gil. So yeah early AH warring is very important to me, and a big part of that is first to market

here is the thing, that person didn't just DROP IN at 50, it wasn't like he signed up and got a special level 50 character, he busted ass too...he busted ass on ONE POINT ZERO. did you craft in 1.0?
i busted ass in 1.0 i only got to ~ level 15 in most classes and it represented weeks of play, these people with all 50's would have spent months or years to get that.
imagine that the opposite was true and you were being asked to either remain on a server located on the other side of the world or delete the character you worked on in order to be on a server with your friends and a sane ping rate.
