Solemn Dreams was founded on July 20, 2012. We are a medium sized guild/free company with a presence in Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV. We look for mature, like-minded adults to join our ranks and to share our game time with. We have a no pressure, no drama, atmosphere in our free company and our roster consists of mostly working adults, our friends and our families. We respect everyone's right to the play-style that they choose, whether they solo, duo, pvp, pve, craft, or however they prefer to enjoy the game.

• Loyalty - We will be loyal to our free company never speaking badly of it, our leaders, officers or members. Do not embarrass the free company in any way.
  
  
• Excellence - We strive to be successful at everything that we do from crafting to PvP and of course raiding.
  

We recognize that real life comes first no matter what.

Because we are a casual free company, members are free to play the game as they wish. There are no goals or quotas placed upon any member. Your time may be spent on adventuring or tradeskilling to any degree as you see fit. It is your time after all!

There are no mandatory events, however, we do have several scheduled and unscheduled events that members are always welcome to join. Members who sign up for an event in advance will be expected to show up on time and ready.

It's important that people know some things about our free company before joining, just so they know what they're getting into.

• We're a casual free company, not hard-core. We do run end-game content several nights a week and we do get loot but we are not ABOUT the loot.
  
  
• Our guild/free company has a presence in both Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV. Some of our leadership and members play both games and some play only one. If you need to contact an officer and they are not in-game please send them a message on our website.
  
  
• We care about the Solemn Dreams tag. As a relatively large free company, we get seen around the world quite a bit. It is highly important to us that Solemn Dream's members are seen as courteous toward others.
  
  
• We are helpful, but we're playing the game too. The primary purpose of the free company is to supply our members with allies, not freebies. We love to help members achieve their goals in-game but we are not here simply for hand-outs.
  
  
• Our free company is low drama and will stay that way. The Officers work very hard to make it both fun and safe for everyone who wants to participate. There are people of all ages and backgrounds in our free company, and our one demand is that everyone be treated with respect. You can read our code of conduct here.
  
  
• We want to get to know you. Our application process is a bit involved. We'll review it then we may have a few questions to ask you.

I am interested in applying to your guild but can not complete the application process as I do not belong to a "Grand Company" nor have any idea at this point which I would belong to or why. Required to enter this information. I am new to FFXIV and still unfamiliar with everything. Suggestions?

Sorry about that. Fixed the application so that can be left blank. Grand Company is basically the "faction" you will join as part of your main story line. There is one in each of the 3 starting cities.

Hello my name is Edward Elric and because I cant make my own topic on this forum I would like to post here... Hello I will be on the Coeurl server! I have made probably the biggest LS on the server during P4 and there was only one rule... You must be friendly!

We plan to make a FC just after launch! Those of you who were in my LS can expect a smooth transition. Those others who want to join my FC we are here to help! We enjoy doing whatever strikes the mood, raids, dungeons, question, gathering together, fishing together or just having a fun social experience.

Howdy. I have read up on your FC and to be honest I think it would be a good matchup to my play style. I like grouping and beating content on all levels but I do not take it as an all consuming obsession not to mention that my real life does tend to pull me away from the game a couple of days at a time.

I really love the low drama, laid back crowd that still likes to get together and goof off. I am an older player (Almost 40) and have been around MMOs since Meridian 59. I hope to bring one more fun loving and usually pleasant player to your group.

At a glance this looks like a well put Promotion for an FC. I'm going to submit an application.

My main char is on Ridill and 1.0 status (50THM), this is my new char which might become my new main. I plan on tanking as Primary. MRD 16 GLA 10 PUG 10 at the end of Beta Phase 4. I'll have Early access, and running the dungeons first thing tomorrow morning when I log on.

I have a lot of end game experience from FFXI, and FFXIV 1.0. I'm all about making friends and helping each other out. I was going to make my own FC, but if this fits I'll stay here. (as long as I'm welcome) I appreciate the founders intentions and hope to add value to your community with positive attitude and teamwork
