World transfer?

Most of my old FFXI linkshell moved to another server, and I sadly missed the boat with the old world transfer service email. Are there any plans to open up a service to move characters between worlds? The last world transfer notice seems to have been closed... unless I missed something?

I've got a couple of 1.0 buddies that missed the transfer window as well as loads of friends who were too impatient to wait for my server to open up to make characters during P4. I haven't read any official word from SE on the matter of transfers but I've seen repeated numerous times around the community that transfers would open up in six months. I'm hoping SE makes an official statement on their plans as I'm not looking forward to being separated from a dozen of my buddies that would like to all play together but we're scattered across many different servers right now. :/

Q12: Are you planning to have a world transfer service?

A12: As this is a game with world barriers, we will be preparing this service so you can move to the same world as old friends as well as new people you meet and become friends with through the Duty Finder. We plan on starting this fee-based service that will allow you to transfer to the world of your choice around 2-3 weeks after launch. Once we have finalized the details we will be sure to let you know.
