Two FFXIV service accounts?

I noticed during phase 4 i had the option to log into two different service accounts, but didn't have the chance to figure it out before the beta forums went away. I'm not exactly sure what is going here, but if anyone can help, that would be great.

Maybe you registered a second beta key to your SE account. Since there was already a service account registered with a beta key it created a new service account.
It happened to me in beta3 after I registered the beta key that was included in my PS3 promotion code email, thought it was also for the PS3.

I have now just deactivated the service account I don't use.

I have the same problem. One of them supposedly existed since 2010, and I'm sure I didn't have anything to do with FFXIV back then at all. Now I'm in a bit of trouble though, as I'm afraid of activating my code for either of my service accounts, for fear of using it on the wrong one. I tried to check the Lodestone to see which account has my character on it as the code redemption page told me to do, but the Lodestone says my account doesn't have any characters on it, which is bogus. Does anyone know how to make sure I activate the code on the correct account I used during Phase 4?

i have the SAME issue, i think it happened when it prompted me for EA perks and it listed a deleted characters name so i by instinct clicked "create new service"...

I have the same. Although I registered twice in July (they sent me a different Beta code after phase 3 had ended), it's only in Aug that I had the v1.0 service.

It's probably safe to delete. I registered my codes on the v2.0 account and now my Service Account links to my characters, or else I wouldn't be posting here.

The one with your characters is the one you selected to log in through when in P4.

I had the same thing when I registered 2 beta accounts during closed beta. Are you a legacy player? or are you a new player who maybe played open beta? If you are a new player that played open beta then you will want to remember which one you used to create your char.

I used my service 1 and canceled the service 2. Someone mentioned that they did this during OB and it stopped the prompting when logging into the game about which service you wanted to use.

When you cancel the service, you still get the option to reactivate it. I don't know about the accounts that were under the services though.

i only registered 1 beta account , my 1 was registered in P3 because the date is June 10th. so is it safe to assume my service 2 is my P4 one? but my "2" was created August 22nd and my P4 character def wasnt created today lol
