Players can remake their Characters once again (besides the 30 day sub appearance ticket). News were just posted in JP forum. I'm sure we get official translation soon.
EDIT
there it is
We have confirmed an issue wherein players were unable the load their character data from the official benchmark when changing the appearance of their FINAL FANTASY XIV version 1.0 characters.
In addition, we identified several display issues with the editing screen itself. Due to these display issues, players may have had a difficult time changing the appearance and/or character name of their characters.
Therefore, we have decided to provide the following services.
- Provide a one-time character name change.
- Provide a one-time character appearance change.
* Please note that we will only be providing the service to those who encountered problems during the character change process.
We will follow-up once we have more information on the matter.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Hiya : ) I logged in and chose one of my 2 1.0 chars (both around level21) well I clicked on the conj char and boom it started me with some default setting to Uldah with a war. There was no going to char creation or anything just boom the cut scene started and no way to turn back. It never asked me anything. I am not stupid but over the last 20 years I've kindof gotten used to at least a couple of choices when you click on something. I'm just not smart enough I guess. They don't exactly hand those out like candy.
but I'm not sure how you think you could "turn your lev 21 conj into a war" with one click. It takes several clicks to get through character creation whether it's a new or an old character.
We were told waaaaaaaay before now that city and starting class are now linked.
I'm sorry. I really don't mean to offend you, but at the same time i find what you're saying difficult to understand / believe.
? It doesn't preapply a class. You choose the class of your choice, and the city is chosen together with it (It's shown in the lower left area of the screen when you highlight a particular class). Maybe I don't understand what you mean? Maybe you thought you pick your first class after the game starts? I've never seen a game where you did that though...You obviously couldn't read what I wrote. I didn't see that it preapplied a class to my character.
I'm not attacking you. I'm sorry if you saw it that way. But your writing wasn't very clear, so I had to interpret it the best I could. If you weren't even asked to choose a class or customize your character like 1.0 characters were supposed to, then that is a bug and you will most likely be getting a recustomize out of it. The original post read to me more like "I didn't pick the options I wanted, can I do it over again?" than like "there was a bug and I didn't get to choose anything I wanted.'Maybe you can relearn to read what ppl write if you're going to attack them for it.
I'd guess you're one of the victims of the bug or something. When you select a 1.0 character for the first time, a message pops up telling you you need to choose a starting class and it also stats you are given a chance to change your name and appearance as well. If none of that happened, then yeah, that was a bug.Hiya : ) I logged in and chose one of my 2 1.0 chars (both around level21) well I clicked on the conj char and boom it started me with some default setting to Uldah with a war.
1.0 characters see a different intro from the one where you come in on a ship or wagon.

Yes. In the 1.0 character intro, you're just in this swirling aetherial place, you don the AF of the class you chose in character creation, swing your weapon around at (something), and a little after that you're dropped off in some random place in Eorzea (in your lv1 RSE), then you are shown walking into the city of the class you chose with a narrator saying a bunch of stuff.
When you were playing, did any of the main characters in the story react to you as if they thought they knew you, but then they doubt themselves? (e.g. "you look familiar, have we met?"). Several NPCs in the game h ave slightly different lines towards 1.0 characters.
If you made a mistake about character appearance, there will be an NPC that allow you to re-edit your characters later.
but if you chose the wrong starting class/city, then it's your fault for not reading.
but it's ok if SE will give people another chance.
They aren't getting a new chance to change the starting city.
Not that I remember. Can't say that I was reading as intently as I could have been, but from the dialog I remember they introduced themselves as if we've never met. Even the ones I've interacted with 1.0.Yes. I would just like to be able to load my pre-perfected character data from the benchmark. Some of the colors just weren't appearing quite right. How will they know who was affected by this bug, though?
