Hi there, I'm supporting this thread, simply because I experienced and in-game bug. After loading my appearance, and choosing
starting class, I was prompted with a "proceed"? I had not clicked to begin the game, so I thought it must be to accept my choice
in starting class. After I had clicked to proceed (from the prompt, not from the main char changing menu) the game began. After
talking to several people, this should not have been how it worked. So I did not suffer a graphical error, but did suffer a menu
error, and did not get to make several other changes.
I won't be upset if I don't get my change, but would really appreciate it.
I created a similar thread in beta forum too. I didn't realize that the class was listed in the confirmation page for 1.0 char importation, so i confirmed and i couldn't change it after that 2 steps process. I wanted to keep the appearance so i didn't bother about all the options in confirmation page, 'cause i thought that it was only about char appearance and i did the error to confirm PUG as my starting classI already have my MNK at lvl 50 so i wanted to start with a lvl 1 class (ARC and ACN for me) so i wouldn't waste the early quest exp. This way all the exp until lvl 10 and more (i have to unlock airship if i want to go to limsa and join the Arcanist guild so all the main quest exp will be wasted as well) will be wasted for i am bound to PUG.
If they will reset those characters who had problems in beta 4, why wouldn't they reset ours as well? I don't think there are lot of people out there that want their char wiped, so it's a matter of.. 10, maybe 20 characters?
They won't reset any chars, they will allow ppl a recustomization who had problems with that graphic bug.I created a similar thread in beta forum too. Awww they brought that stupid 1000 char limit...
You obviously couldn't read what I wrote. I didn't see that it preapplied a class to my character. I wasn't even the last Job I played the game as cause I made the effort to save as a Conj cause of Grid. This was not a choice made by me but a choice made by square. It's not like when you make a new character you choose your look THEN choose your class... Maybe you can relearn to read what ppl write if you're going to attack them for it.

well if you made bad choices in the character creation, start making up some lies[NA] Regarding the Character Appearance Change of Your Version 1.0 Characters
We have confirmed an issue wherein players were unable the load their character data from the official benchmark when changing the appearance of their FINAL FANTASY XIV version 1.0 characters.
/edit
* Please note that we will only be providing the service to those who encountered problems during the character change process.
The problem is, they spent several phases of Beta and a Benchmark showing us the new character creation system. Then they turned around and changed the process for returning 1.0 characters, skipping the class choice entirely. It’s a little ridiculous to expect everyone to realize that the class they started with (for some of us back in September of 2010) would be the one automatically applied. It’s not like they show you equipped with the class weapon while editing your character. It should have been the last choice to be made just before final confirmation.
I started 1.0 as a THM in Girdania and that’s my starting city, it’s even on my CE Right of Passage. Luckily I had been warned by others before I logged in that the class I was before the final save wouldn’t be the default. Otherwise I wouldn’t have figured out how to switch to LNC and would have been forced to start in Ul’dah.
I wasn't able to load my official benchmark character settings so I just redid it again. I also wasn't able to change my name either. I'm glad we'll get that chance to do so again.
I'm also a bit bummed I couldn't load in benchmark character data. Kudos if they let us redo it again.
