Job/Class Question

Hey guys, here comes a noob question... If I create a character being thaumaturge, can I get another job besides black mage? Im asking because I didnt like too much of thm, so I was wondering if I can lvl a sub class of lancer and pugilist to be a dragoon, keeping my name and crafts. Or should I create another character as lancer as main class?

The wonderful thing about this game is you can do everything on one character. If you don't like BLM, then becoming a Dragoon is as easy as leveling Lancer and Pugilist and completing the level 30 quest as a Lancer for the soul crystal, so you can continue on with your character the way you see fit
