Well, there IS a way to notice it at a glance. Let's use the mockup as a base
Positive statuses look like an arrow pointing upwards (look at protect in the party screen) and negative statuses look like an arrow pointing downwards (look at the enemy's billion dots)

Takes a wee bit of training to discern at a glance but the 'square' part of both arrows is centered so when there are both positive and negative statuses on a target the positive statuses are as if they were edged upwards on relation to the negative statuses.

Why not take it a step further and do this to make the buff bar cleaner:

Display number of stacks of the same effect from all sources (top in the image)
Display longest duration of the same effect (bottom in the image)

Keep personal buffs left-aligned and possibly larger, as per OP suggestion.

Maybe make so only those relevant to you show through options?(for example only showing your bio dot and debuffs on the target that increase your attacks)? But the one above looks nice.

I had a hard time tracking my dots as well, it didn't felt nice.
I pretty much agree with the OP on this one.

Personally I would be happy if they had a bar that would show your DOT progression which you can resize and move around.
The game would benefit in general from something like that for buff/debuff tracker, at the moment it feels a bit to chaotic.

These are all good ideas, but I personally would like a separate window where my buffs and debuffs would show up. Kinda like Dotimer from that game that must not be named :P

I am wasting one of my 20 posts to agree with OP. This is important and he has easy to implement effective ideas.

This sounds more like something for add-on in the future. I like it.

I also feel like the last thing some players want is more windows =.= so it should be optional with a less encumbering option to see your DoT and enfeebs.

I did NOT notice this until now, lol. Thanks a lot! That will be very helpful as a healer.
