All the random theories floating around regarding atma drops are complete BS.

It's pure RNG. People have widely differing experiences getting their drops.

No one can really say for sure. I got two atma in 2 1/2 hours last night using the time of day method. My friend got 4 in a little more time than that. That's a heck of a lot less time than it has taken in the past for both of us, but it doesn't really mean anything. You could say that luck is luck, and it was just RNG, or you could say that maybe there is something to it. I know I need more substantial evidence to actual believe it was more than the just RNG gods smiling upon me, but I'm also not going to claim that it is false. I only farm for a little bit here and there anyway, so I'll keep going by this for now, and see how things go.

There is a wealth of player experiences completely falsifying any theories I've seen thus far. Furthermore, people posting such theories don't seem to understand the meaning of the word theory.

It takes more than conjecture, imagination, and belief to arrive at a theory. Substantial testing and results to support these posts by people would go a long way. Of course, we don't get to see that because anybody who actually tries formally, likely realizes rather quickly that there is no discernible pattern.

There have been multiple people posting that it seems to have worked for them. A person posted that they got all 12, and were in the zone no longer than 50 minutes for each. The theory is just that it gives an increased chance, and not that it guarantees it, or that's the only time of day that you can acquire each. It's difficult to falsify or validate it. You can just say it was luck, or lack of luck that caused the different results. If it increases the drop rate from .5% to 5%, then it's still pretty rare, and could still take hours in theory. I'm still not saying it's true or not, but there's no way it can be called "complete BS" just yet. The only way we'll ever know for sure is if SE tells us.
