Haven't posted in here before, but just wanted to, to thank you for your awesomeness Reinheart. Much <3![]()
Yeah, the Famitsu interview had some interesting stuff.
Wish he had gone into more detail with the addtional retainer service thing.
One of the more interesting parts of the interview was when he started talking about having ARR in China and how the average PC specs in netcafes are on par with the PS3. Yet people will continue to complain about PS3 limitations.

True, but you have to remember one thing also. The PS3 can never be upgraded (aside from HDD/SSD lol), while the PC's in the netcafe's although it's slower pace than rest of the world they will gradually upgrade their PC's so players playing can play other new games. They were looking at the Chinese internet cafe when they started developing FFXIV ARR so that's 3yrs back already, so probably most of the netcafe's already got some upgrades or will get an uprade in next year or two.
But till then it'll still be on par with the PS3, /nod.
Not dissing the PS3, I still love my PS3's I got. But can understand how it can be holding back a bit, when the dev's probably could've done more stuff a lot faster than now having to wait till they can drop the PS3 support in the future. But this would also mean it would affect the minimum spec PC's as well![]()

These have been great and timely articles. Even some info on a Mac client! (Yoshi-P wants it but the dev schedule is just too busy this year...)
Also the Famitsu one has some spoilers for those who haven't finished the main story yet.
I wouldn't get more retainers, though. It's a rule that people's stuff always expands to fill all available space. I do like the retainer missions idea. Years ago SE mentioned expanding their smart phone app to be able to do certain simple content like this. Hmm...

the fact to drop the ps3 is needed, with the new mmorpg coming, they will need to add more and more. let's take some look at some interesting feature of the next coming mmorpg.
- EQN: with him physic affecting the gameplay, allowing you to litterally destroy the area and find cave in the earth.
- Wildstar: with the full custom for the pvp, mount and even equipement. plus the systeme of random mission with tons of possibility in the way to do it.
and i'm sure a lot of other idea in the futur will be added, they will need to be able to give us more feature in the futur. i found Yoshida quite lucid about the market of the mmorpg, it's a service and if the service don't evolve... people will leave.
we can't Denie that PS3 in the futur will simply be not enough for the kind of evolution FF14 will need. but i prefer see it like it take at heart to make sure the game it's of quality even on ps3 and that player will not be treated less good than ps4 and pc user.
finally it means you will at least get the first extension, good news in a way.

Thanks for taking the time to do the live translation today Rein.![]()
