Might want to check your spreadsheet again. Two 1.66 cast time Fire 3's after each Bliz 3?I seem to be the only one that doesn't agree with the current BLM rotation, I even spread sheeted it, and I still find Fire 3 to be superior to Fire 1. I have also out parced black mages that use the standard rotation.

Yes, if you cast them fast enough you can get a second cast in, probably a bug, but you definitely can.

I can't see in your sheet any instant Fire III with the Fire I rotation, which is his only purpose, instant casting Fire III without mana.
It's a 40% proc, huge !
I think we should try the two rotation on dummy with the log parser during ~15mn each.
there are 3 gcd fire 3's in the fire 1 rotation, out of 9 fire 1's there would be 3.6 fire 3 procs,
Hi guys, so I'm a noob with only a low level BLM. I was wondering why no one mentions Scathe, I love using this since it almost has no cast time. In the time it takes to cast one elemental spell I would have casted 2 or 3 Scathes. With high CRIT, wouldn't this be more optimal damage? Just curious. Also, if I main Scathe which would be better, spell speed or high crit? Thanks for answering!
Scathe triggers the GCD of 2.5 seconds, so it's essentially the same as casting your stronger spell, except you do a fraction of the damage in exchange for being able to move. Never scathe when you can stand still and cast.Hi guys, so I'm a noob with only a low level BLM. I was wondering why no one mentions Scathe, I love using this since it almost has no cast time. Wait, so I can get to cast and move as well during boss fights AND do about the same damage with unaspected neutral damage? I don't see what the point is to 'Never scathe when you can stand still and cast'. Or am I missing something here entirely?
If you need to move constantly in a boss fight your positioning is bad. Part of being a good caster is understanding the spots you can use to minimize movement. In most cases even, you'll only need to move for a second or two before you go back to casting.
