As YoshiP already said: As long as I don't create advantages and disadvantages for me or other players (like using hacks, cheats, exploits, bots or bugs), it's not bad.
I don't even modify gamefiles or the client itself (like other "mods" I won't name here do).
I just replace ~4 bytes in the memory (race_id, face_id, hair_id) with WinHex (Hex does not stand for Hacks, it stands for Hexadecimal).
The bytes will be overwritten everytime I use /gpose or when I move to another location. It's nothing that I could permanently use.
Talked to a GM on Odin for a long time already and he explained that it's not a "bad" thing. Sure, it is different, but not bad because I don't create any advantages and disadvantages.

I understand the concept and implementation, It's still not a smart idea to announce it publicly. FFXI was banning people in the past for using Wardbrobe, which was a semi permanent version of what you are doing. And THAT prog can be sued to creat unfair advantages, so you are just opening yourself up for trouble.
The GM didn't really understood what you were doing there. If you had any of the Developers to talk to you, they would exactly tell you, that this would fall under the Catigory of "Client Modification".
This is exactly what you do in the end and also how Bots are slightly working, by having access to the Memory, read and write and execute in the end.
This is as if you start Datamining and just want to know the Fontsize of the Quests, the Client is property of Square Enix and We, the Players, are technically not allowed by taking a look into the Client by any means.
Using Tools that give you a insight of the Client Structure when the Game is running also fall under this Catigory, it's mostly not just one thing you're breaking but several things, as if they're chained together.
But in the end the Support really doesn't care for obvious Reasons in terms of Botting/Cheating so you're just having extreme Luck afterall.
(Not meant to offense you, but to avoid you getting in trouble as you never know how fast you can get removed by doing this)
Have some Screenshots :
(By any means, even Reshade has to have access to a Depth Buffer in case you want to use certain Effects, so ya, literally everything would be forbidden if you want to see it in that Way)

#GetSelliBack2016

Heya
I know tools that can replace music, textures or models in the Client which is... of course, "Client Modification".
Gamefiles and Archives are getting manipulated. This doesn't happen with my method, which just change a small amount of bytes in the memory.
WinHex is a Tool which I need for my work (Software Engineering) and there are plenty other tools I need, some of them are needed to read and write the memory.
I can understand why bots or hacks are not allowed. You'll create advantages for yourself which really sucks. I won't use any of this stuff for this game, ever.
I talked to YoshiP twice about this. The first time as Community Ambassador at Gamescom 2015 and the second time on the Fan Gathering Cologne (2016, after Gamescom). He explained that I wouldn't get punished as long as I don't do bad things with my knowledge.
(sorry, english isn't my native language).
If I offended anyone with it, I'm sorry. That won't happen again.
