You're assuming they want to add an AH. Note how they've said, "they'll consider adding an AH".

I don't really care even if they don't add an AH. I am satisfied with the market wards.
I just think there should be other things they focus on, other than the AH. But the fact that he was able to do this, in 5 hours, just shows dedication. I know it's not something that can compare to the programming needed for an AH in FFXIV, but still. If you look at work hours = results I mean.

He didn't really do anything significant in 5 hours. He created a shell.
But that's besides the point. Why do you assume they aren't doing anything? So just because they aren't updating the game every time they make a change, you assume they are all twiddling their thumbs and laughing at the players while they whack off or something?
Yes , its really not much what I have now. But it'll hopefully duispel some myths that this it's hard work. A team of there skilled individuals could hammer out a test version by the end of a day. From forum posts and producer letters, se has nothing. that s really disappointing. It makes you wonder what theyre doing all day.He didn't really do anything significant in 5 hours. And again, you're assuming they're planning on adding one.
You have no idea what they are working on, so you have no idea how long it should take.
I'm sure they're all playing frisbee in the office, telling fart jokes and making copies of their butt-cheeks. They're not working at all, since you seem to think SE is willing to pay all them for doing nothing. >.>
They have told us they are making drastic changes. Those take time. Just because they aren't updating the game for every little change they plan to make doesn't mean they aren't doing anything.

SE paid the first team for 5 years while they were sleeping or something because what they gave us was not 5 years of works worth. And again, you're assuming they're planning on adding one.

I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!
i totally get that this project includes more than just an auction house. but i don't understand why it takes so long to see any dramatic changes. we have seen no dramatic changes so far, which is ABSOLUTELY unheard of after 6 months of development on ANY project, let a lone a flagship project that FAILED and REQUIRES a metric shit ton of changes. And again, you're assuming they're planning on adding one.

You know what? yeah, they are dicking around the water cooler all day.
if i told any of my clients that i tweaked my software slightly for the last few months, i'd be up shit's creek without a paddle. i'm expected to have dramatic changes quarter to quarter. oh boy, I made a SOAP service to integrate a 3rd party bug reporting service into every day pharma web apps last quarter? this quarter i better have that shit be single sign on enabled, with real time feedback enabling, and integrated with every other intranet web-app, or my ass is toast.
i can;t believe any of you are accepting the pace that these changes are coming to FFXIV. even if I look at the MMO development world alone, under a microscope, there are MMO developers who are puttnig out more conent and more fixes faster than FFXIV ever has. Trion released a world event and a dozen patches' worth of bug fixes in A SINGLE MONTH after release. it took the original FFXIV dev team TWO MONTHS to release their first patch after official service began.
P.S. for whoever said a web interfaced database is much simpler than a thick client interfaced database, you're wrong. sorry guy, it's not hard to plan up an add/remove database with or without web interfaces. in addition, copying the same environment from one server to 18 servers is a minuscule task.

3 months

Oh, did you take any pictures when you visited their offices?

Oh, SE is only making slight changes? Guess they don't have plans to redo 70% of the game, huh?
Well, seeing as A) I'm not paying for it, B) I realize that changing 70% takes time, and C) I'm having fun playing...i can;t believe any of you are accepting the pace that these changes are coming to FFXIV. even if I look at the MMO development world alone, under a microscope, there are MMO developers who are puttnig out more conent and more fixes faster than FFXIV ever has. Yeah, I could care less that it's taking awhile to implement changes. Also, you can't use Rift as a measuring stick... the changes they made were minor and they had the "content" finished before they released the game. They aren't redesigning their core mechanics.
Sorry man, you really don't have a leg to stand on here.

Wha... you don't believe me? Q_Q
Anyways, wtf can we do about it? *shrugs* You can probably change the way they implement a certain system, or even get SE to consider your ideas. As far as whining about the pace at which we are getting updated goes.. well, good luck with that.
Again I'm torn on this issue, things take time, it's half a year since release, and what do we have, a few minor quests and such.
I still beleive there is alot coming soon in the way of PVE content but holding back, but people need to see more stuff I think. It takes time to do stuff, but can anyone seriously say that the stuff released so far takes 4 months to do? *I took off 2 since hasn't been much since febuary/early march then add in reset* we get NM's and they are 6 minor ones no one touches, we get new quests, they are done in a afternoon. I'm just believing and hoping that they havn't wated 6 months and we have a ton of stuff coming, just waiting for combat/core changes to allow for them to go in.
