Popular at launch, seeing a drop off after 2-3 months to a stable base that will be healthy enough. P2P is not a particularly popular model these days and there is a lot of competition. MMo have a hard time expanding numbers like the old days and its common to see people play for a few months and then jump ship to the next big thing (that's probably F2P).*

Launch will be ropey, but I'm hoping for the best.

*im neither here nor there on P2P vs F2P models, I think they both have a place. Just saying.

Hoping there is enough space on my server for me to get on. Already planning on stocking up on snacks and such the day before and getting up around 4:30am EDT so I am able to hop on right away

As usual with mmo launches, there are bound to be some problems. I just hope they increase the server capacity fast enough, so friends can still join the server I'm on.

I think they learned a lot and found some new congestion issues during P4, which is good news because that means they were able to fix it. I think Early Access will be smoother than P4 and release will be even smoother (seems most people playing at release have played beta and have early access).

It is my belief that people will become frustrated as they try to log into or create characters on servers with their friends to find that the server is not available to new characters at the moment. This will ebb and flow for a few days then begin to settle down.

There will be inevitable hiccups. There always will be. As far as the game's success, it will be much more successful than 1.0. Will it see WoW numbers? Only the future can tell.
