Again, I think it's just because the servers aren't live right now and so there's no way to link the PS3 with the SE account.

SE customer service took care of my issue, editing my post

Does your friend's Square Enix accounts have service accounts for those PS3 games? I'd ask them if they do. If they don't, than it doesn't matter which of the messages it gives you, SE accounts and PSN accounts are still not being linked.
I asked my friends that also pre-orderd the game in PS Store, someone have this issue same as me, but someone don't.
They can add service option (Early access and ingame option) normaly and can see the message "Please wait until the start of the early access period or official launch to access the game."
What's wrong with my account or my pre-order?
Understanding your Square Enix account
Having the same issue. I ordered my CE through PSN, and when I tried to connect it to my existing service account (I have it on PC as well from 1.0), I get "No Valid Service Account is available to play Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn." "*Please restart the client for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn"
Apparently happened before in beta.
This was SE's response:
[NA] [PS3 Version] Version Update Issue (Aug. 15)
Right now we are experiencing technical difficulties on North American PlayStation®3 version where an error message saying "No valid service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn." when players press the login button on the launcher and they are unable to complete the version update.
We are currently addressing this issue with a cooperation of Sony Computer Entertainment and new updates will follow as additional information becomes available.
Please note that this issue is only occurring on the North American PlayStation®3 version. The Windows version, and Japanese/European PlayStation®3 version, are unaffected.
We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Apparently the PS3's game servers weren't available yet, and therefore nobody could link their PSN accounts with their SE accounts.
Should also note that the Playstation servers will be down for maintenance in half an hour.

You don't have to uninstall the beta phase 4 client.
I was able to link my PS3 SEN account to my SE account earlier. It appears all the items and options are added/linked to my Legacy PC account. My PS3 client is currently updating... Currently, there appears to be SEN maintenance though. My cousin was going to link his PS3 with his existing PC account too, but is going to wait until maintenance is over at approximately 9:30PM EST.

No solutions yet?
player asked:
Let's say I bought the old game, and never received Legacy status. If I want to get early access on the PC, all I have to do is pre-order a copy of the new version right? If I buy the PS3 version instead, does that mean I have to play on PS3 during the early access period?
MOD hvinire responded:
As long as you pre-order, the PS3 version can be linked to your pre-existing FFXIV account to play early on the PC version.
This will also allow you to play on either the PS3 or PC with the same service account. However, you won't be able to log in with both at the same time. As long as this isn't a problem, you should be fine purchasing the PS3 version.

THIS IS WHY I BOUGHT PS3 EA FOR MY PC 1.0 to play EA on pc.
MAKE IT HAPPEN SE
your mod said so.
Same thing here got the CE on PSN installed id and got the message "No valid service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn." hope they fix this soon......
My wife is having this same exact issue, I've got about 45 minutes left in queue with a SE rep, I will post what they say. I am guessing this might have to do with PSN being under maintenance, but we'll see.
