Fellow Paladin-to-be on the Gilgamesh Server. The reason I want to go with Paladin, is because one of my favorite FF games, FFIV, the main protagonist is a Paladin, Cecil. Plus, I like the way the Paladin gear looks in FFXIV. It's what Paladin gear should be.

How is there already lvl 50 paladins lol. Did the game not just start?! Crazy. Enlighten me! I'm at the Midgardsormr server.

For me, wanting to take up the sword and shield started before I first played 1.0 (Gladiator was my first Class to 50) followed from wanting to give Paladin a go in FFXI, but because I enjoyed mage classes more (was a RDM, BLM and BLU) I never got around to it (and by that time, it just didn't seem worth it as I didn't have/want to spend the time to invest into it).

I do also play Dragoon and Black Mage; I'm all for taking hits, but that pent up anger needs to be let out some times (DRG) and where there's light, there is darkness (BLM). That isn't the reason I took up those other classes/jobs, but it does seem to work quite well.

The game (FFXIV) has been out since 2010. A Realm Reborn has just launched, though. Characters who played during version 1.0 (the original FFXIV) retained all their character data including their levels. That is why you will see Lv50 players on Legacy servers (servers specifically for 1.0 players, and new players who want to play on those servers too).

Paladin here, from the server Adamantoise. I've played a tank since TBC of World of Warcraft. I haven't played a Final Fantasy MMO until beta of ARR, so I'm still pretty new. But I've played almost every singleplayer FF game there is (Like Mystic Quest. ). Looking forward to tanking in ARR.
