There is an config option to turn On/Off auto-sort, but it is really bad and I m not sure how does it sort the thing.

Can there be just a button when you click it and everything with the same name, same category will line up? This feature has implement in any old-school FF but why not the newest one? It is so hard to find item in your inventory and retainer, or it is even hard to check how many stuffs each thing I have as a retainer. For example some cobalt ore might be on page-1, some might be on page-6.

it dont work.

i have 2 retainers full and my inventory almost full and everything is scattered around only thing the current auto sort does is make stacks
i made a post about this in beta and still nothing. FFXI & FFXIV 1.0 had it working like it should.

It's absolutely useless. It works poorly in the first place, and if a page in your inventory gets full, who knows where an item will end up.
There's no way to have it automatically sort again once you've cleared out stuff, either.

We need a real auto-sort, and the option to have a list, not this icon nonsense.

The autosort is useless. We need to be able to click and have it sort everything in the inventory. After playing Tera which has a sort feature... FFXIV inventory management sucks.

it's more of an semi-auto sort :P as it only sorts when the stack is FIRST placed in your bag. There needs to be a button to "Re-sort" or some way to customize WHERE the "sort functions" start (i.e consumables on page 1 instead of 3). OR simply do the "normal" thing and have everything start on page 1 in X/Y/Z order with a "sort" button for full inventories =/ Kinda annoying while mass fishing/gathering to sudddenly have page 4 full and it's now onto page 1. Heck does ANYTHING start on page 1/2? misc items are all 4 Consumables start on 3.... 1 and 2 seem like they should be page 3/4 instead <.<;

I don't know about TERA, but I m fine as long as they add the traditional FF-sort. Press select or something and then it ask you "what to sort items by? By category? by alphabet ? etc." usually I only want them to sort by category though. Although I don't mind if there is "Sort by level" too.

Some useful sorting would be pleasant, Especially in our armor chest. Nothing like sorting it manually only to do a couple class swaps and suddenly everything is borked again.

Agree with this. Auto-sort is terrible.

I have very few issues with this game, but this is one of the few big annoyances I have currently.

I spent ages looking for some sorting button, expecting there to be one. My inventory and retainers inventory are a huge mess!
