20 is the minimum level but you HAVE to have a chocobo issuance before you can ride it anyways. that quest doesnt start till you join a GC at level 22.

are you positive its at 22? thought it was like almost directly after ifrit at 20.

Yes, after Ifrit there's a maybe 1 hours of running around with the main quest until you can join a grand company, maybe a bit more. After that you need 2000 grand company seals to buy the issuance. Collecting those takes about 1 hours

I'm going to be bummed if i can't ride my CE mount right away,but i'll deal with it if i have to.I wasn't able to get to level 20 in Phase 4 beta due to issues so poop. lol Oh well still can't wait ;0)

During Phase 3 I could use my goobue, but I didn't have a chocobo whistle. At the start...but I'm pretty sure that will not be the case at release, I didn't even play my legacy character in phase 4, just focused on a new one

they mustve changed that in phase 4. a lot of 1.0 players reported issues with using other mounts; because they didnt have their chocobo issuance.

worried that the plethora of different mounts they are adding will make this game feel like so many cash shop games where buying the latest greatest mount to look cool is the cash shops bread and butter. making the entire game look like a total mess of clashing rides everywhere.

variety is not a bad thing at all.

thankfully though there isnt a cash shop. and i hope to god there wont be. another thing to think about is the barding that goes with your chocobo. this will keep players interested in riding their chocobo because of the customizability

I'd say less than 2 weeks from EA launch for most servers to have them running around.
