Hi,
couldnt really find information on Mounts ingame while last beta phase...
So when will i be able to get a mount? And what do i have to do for that?
Is there a riding skill needed or just a mount?
If i have the collectors edition with the mount, can i use it right from the start and my friends without the CE have to run all the way?

Any information would be appreciated

As a new player you will be able to get your personal chocobo when you join your grand company (around lv 25 in the main story) and complete some grand company quests

1) The coeurl will be sent to you by mog mail it might take 1 day or 1 reboot but yeah you will be able to ride it when you get it
2) There is no riding skill
3) If your friend doesnt have the CE and are NEW players then yes they will either 1) have to run or 2) pay to rent a chocobo in town for 10minutes
4) There is this thing call the veteran program if your friend subscribe to 90days they will get an ahriman mount in the mail so they could use that (According to SE as soon as you register for 90 days you wil lget the mount don't need to wait the 90 days)

There is no licence you can rant a chocobo as soon as you exit the Initial instance. Iirc

Yes. Every new character need first to get the chocobo licence to be able to ride every mount.
Old characters, who got already their chocobo from 1.0 (not the Legacy chocobo) can ride every mounts the moment they get it from the moogle mail.

So you should be able to ride the Coeurl directly when you log into the game if you bought the CE?

People claimed not being able to ride there legacy mount without having the chocobo license. So seems you need to do the GC quests to enable riding of mounts.

Indeed. You need to get the Chocobo before you could use any other mount.

I confirm this. I was not able to ride my Legacy chocobo with my newly created char. Chocobo Permit (i don't remember the exact name) bought from the Grand Company vendor is needed.
