Let's open with something that we all knew was coming, and we'll go from there:

A LITTLE HISTORY

VeranRamaden started the original memes thread, FFXIV Meme's, to be a thread full of blank, FFXIV-related templates that we could use to express a variety of funny situations. Every now and then, one of these legitimate "meme" attempts would pop up, but the fact that, no matter how hard anybody tried, the thread always became an image dump of all FFXIV-related attempts at humor became part of the joke. For some of us, the forums just wouldn't be the forums without a never-ending waterfall of not-that-funny with the occasional hilarity bomb. Likewise, this tumbling catastrophe just wouldn't feel right named anything else. It's just "the memes thread," for better or worse.
