    To OP & SE:

I do not like the restrictions at all.

Character limit I can understand. But just know if you do not allow for larger posts, players are going to go else where for information (such as meaningful guides).

I feel a 5 min waiting time in between new posts is more than a enough. Replies and Creation.

I think if you are actually paying for the game on a monthly basis you should be allowed to create a thread.

    Specifically to SE:

By restricting what players can say on your forums you are restricting the information they can exchange with one another. And if they can't get it from here, they will go to some other website.

By restricting the creation of threads, you are encouraging frustrated player to make replies to posts that have nothing to do with their issue.

Also, you're restrictions are off, there are threads, like technical support, that new players should be able to post in but still can not.

Signed. This is completely unheard of. I got your back, OP.

And since I'm below level 25 this is my last post for today which means I cannot participate in any further discussions.

    Just peachy...

The phrase "survival of the fittest" is quite often interpreted as "survival of the strongest" which is far from true. The true meaning of "survival of the fittest" is "he who adapts, advances". Bad players complain, good players adapt.

Agree completely. This is beyond ridiculous. Setting aside the fact that basing your posting limit on character level is incredibly dumb why does there need to be any restrictions in the first place? I mean many forums don't have any posting restrictions at all and are fine. Not to be rude but this isn't going to reach Reddit levels of popularity. If you're having trouble managing then get some more mods and set up a spam filter. Heck even put forum restrictions in place for the first 10/20 posts they make and then if it's obvious they arn't going to spam or hurt the community then lift the restrictions. Any restrictions beyond that aren't actually going to improve the forum, just restrict the people who paid for your game and want to talk about it with others.

This is important enough that I used one of my 3 posts a day I have to talk about it. And I won't be able to post more unless I focus leveling one class, you're essentially punishing players who like to level up classes evenly

The posting limits are pretty harsh, but could be tenuously acceptable once you raised a class to 50.

The 1,000 character limit per post, however, is not. You cannot publish any sort of guide or analysis under those rules. In my opinion, 3,000 should be the bare minimum. That would at least allow people to normally quote each other and include links and formatting without worrying about running out of characters after a line or two. Industry standard is 10,000, and detailed guides can still easily break that.

I would say if there is going to be any limit, it would be new players ability to post threads in General discussion. It may seem unfair, but I think that is where most of the repeat threads come from since they are much less likely to make any attempt to use the search function. There are less competent veteran players, but they just can't get right.

There is also already the new player help forum where there should be no limit on their thread creation. I think after a certain character level, they should no longer be considered a new player and be allowed to post in general discussion. These limits should not be extended to any of the other forums like bug reports or feedback forums tho, because those things can be given from lvl 1 on and it is highly unlikely that those forums would be abused with repeat threads and useless spam.

I didn't think of the new player help forum, but yeah, that can have very lax restrictions for new players, but General Discussion and other areas, they have more restrictions, going through to no restrictions after so many posts, or levels.

How can we ever have for example detailed guides that could be stickied when there's only a 1000 character limit? That's my only concern.

It should cut down on a lot of the useless posts that plague MMO forums. This can only be a good thing.

If the limits were forum wide, I might agree but since "Technical Support," "Bug Reports," "New Player Help" and "Community Events" aren't included in the quota, I don't think it's needed.

A forum requires activity. The character limit doesn't bug me that much as any form of long guide could be typed up elsewhere and linked to. But the post limit is going to kill these forums. Why would anyone use these when there are plenty of other websites that actually allow you to debate on topics. No one is going to be able to have a good discussion about classes or game play with only 10-20 posts, especially if you're focused on more than one.

    Agreed with OP
Its like being back at school and told to shut up when you have a question about the topic being taught.
