Okay so, as has been said before, this is NOT a thread about supporting healers or watching threat etc... This is a PURE dps thread. This thread is asking which of the dps classes comes out on top assuming a stand still fight under optimal conditions and equal gearing / player skill. So please, instead of making comments like "what ever job you like playing better" or "there is no top dps", promote the discussion through an objective point of view.

All that being said, it would seem the current trends are as follows.

    MNK > DRG/BLM

For DoTs, let's say TestDoT has a base potency of 50 with DoT potency of 20 for 30 seconds. Damage is dealt every 3 seconds for every DoT, which is what we refer to as a "tic/tick"

    30 / 3 = 10 * 20 = 200 + 50 = 250

So if it lasts its full duration it can do 250 potency. Each tic having a chance to crit can fluctuate the damage, naturally, but a full duration DoT is incredible.

Any debuff applied by the DoT, however, does have a chance to resist (shorter duration). The damage does not because it doesn't fall under as an enfeeble.

It'll be monk, their damage will go down the toilet when boss mechanics start showing up though. They'll prob be either top or bottom of the dps pile, never in the middle. Bard prob wont be great but at least it'll be consistent
