ITT: Basically, there is no answer yet. Nobody can say for certain. Considering extensive testing was only really done during Phase 3, and we know much changed in Phase 4, nobody can say for certain yet.

I think the class with the highest DPS potential is going to be Summoner, but on the same note I think an average - low skilled player will get their lowest numbers as summoner.
Ontop of doing their own rotation and doing boss mechanics like every other DPS class they have to manage: Their pet's position. Their Pet's abilities, Aetherflow/Energy drain between GCDS.
Just my 2C though =)

They should just change current Bard into Ranger and later add a more traditional Bard job. Its really a pure DPS right now, with the occasional song. Just let us focus on pure DPS even more without worrying about a song here and there and be a Ranger. And later add Bard as the other job for Archer which focuses on MND, can use Conjurer skills and the songs are all support songs.
Monk ,the stacking buffs in the long run will help , plus is melee ,wear leather and has positional attacks and nearly no burst and aoe ...makes sense that has the best dot.
drg has positional attacks too , but has some burst and aoe.
Blm is going to be king in aoe fights
brd in fight that punish melees.
summoner ? who knows....maybe in 2 target battle so can stack dots on both ....

in terms of long term DPS: While proper TP management can allow for sustained DPS amongst the melee DPS classes (DRG and MNK), the fact remains that eventually they will run out of TP in a longterm battle (i.e. boss fight). If/when they run out of TP, they must wait for TP to regenerate. This highly affects DPS numbers when you calculate the fact that the TP management system doesn't have a way to infinitely regenerate TP like the BLM's MP management system does. Now the LNC/DRG has a skill that allows for a portion of TP to be restored (Invigorate). Calculating this, you have a way to continue your TP management for DPS. Done correctly, you'll be able to handle melee dps more efficiently.
BLM's are more suited to infinite sustained DPS due to the fact that they can pretty much infinitely regenerate their MP. Their concerns more fall into what skills to use how and when. They are magnificent DPS, however, they are stationary. Melee DPS can attack while on the move, while BLMs have to remain still in order to inflict DPS (except Scathe).
While i realize this can be irrelevant depending on exactly what kind of fighting and where. I haven't seen anyone mention limit breaks here. Isn't Bard limit break a healing spell. Depending on the fight that could be a pretty big drawback based on the fact that there are already a lot of classes that can heal with limit breaks. To be fair... i neve played 1.0 so my bias comes from FFXI, but without seeing any numbers i have to say BLM is the best caue they get sleep and fantastic looking robes!!!
Too many changes has been made to jobs. We won't know who does top DPS atm until a couple weeks down the line. Most of all its going to depend on the player.
DRG TP management is not that bad at 50 and you have to bear in mind that there will be times when you are not on the boss, this is when burst can work to your advantage.
Where is the info on what jobs/classes you need to level in order to reach the advanced job/class? I've seen conflicting info.
