[DEV] Interface options A & B

I know how FFXIV's interface was designed for PS3... well at least it was designed to make it playable on the PS3.

For PC users tho' the interface is far from being good. I understand it is difficult for the developers to come up with an interface that works well from both PS3 and PC but i was thinking that they don't have to.

What if they made 2 interfaces? One optimized for PC users, where you have multiple windows open at the same time. Wider action bar, additional action bars etc... and PS3 can have the current UI.

The idea is to make it an option in the settings for both interfaces. Option A would be the current one and Option B a UI optimized for PC users. Both PS3 and PC users can chose between the two options.

Has been said many times that PC and PS3 should have separate UI's of course there are people who will moan that they want even playing field and that one may give another an advantage.

Of course my reply to that would be separate servers for PS3 and PC players :P

We definitely do not need separate servers for PS3 and PC. Separating an already small community will only hurt the game. If PS3 or PC users want to get butthurt and complain about their UIs being different then let them, doesn't bother me at all. It doesn't change the fact that both communities will need each other.

I already feel a keyboard gives an advantage over a controller, even with the current UI.

Yes, they should have 2 type UI

And the 3rd option is the third party UI support

somebody might anti your idea because of they're using gamepad and don't want keyboard-mouse users play better than them

I use a gamepad. I do not feel comfortable at all player Square Enix games with a mouse and keyboard.

Oh no, someone has a distinct "advantage" over you because their preferred controller is different than yours! It's the end of the world!

People have different preferences, hell we already have 3 options (2 of which would certainly work with PS3).

That's the whole point, because they aren't developed with mouse and keyboard in mind. :S

Totally agree with this, although there would be so many butthurt players over this, SE would never allow it either due to hacks and cheating.

wow you want "Screw that just give us regional servers already !" and Separate servers for ps3 and pc? so pretty much it would cut down the game by more then 50% and you pretty much have 2worlds for NA one for PC and one for ps3 lol

It's a bad idea from the beginning for whoever want to play MMO with console or gamepad...
