Gathering Remainder Bar

I have tried searching for something related to the issue I have with the gathering remainder bar but haven't found anything so here goes:

I'm pretty sure it isn't just me, but whenever I begin a gather, part of the remainder bar is already missing...

Is there a reason for this?
Is this what was intended for all gathering attempts, even when your gathering pool is at 2,500 (Read the dev post on gathering fatigue)?

It just seems rather odd that the last part of the remainder bar when you begin gathering is never filled, making it seem pointless to have that empty space there to begin with.

My highest gathering class is only r28 Mining so unless there are any abilies you can get which make that bar completely full then there must be something funny going on.

If this is a known problem that is being worked on then I apologise but I haven't seen anything relating to it exactly.

If anyone can give some feedback on to this matter (does this happen to you also? Would you like the bar to be full when you go to gather?) that would be good, thank you.

There is no problem here.

You will notice that it varies depending on obtainable items.
A rare item will have a shorter bar to make it more difficult to dig/chop.

e.g A Mahogany Log has a much shorter gathering bar than a Maple Branch.

Its working as intended.
You can improve your chances through gear and abilities.

Yes, I've noticed that it does vary with the rarity of items however I don't think I've ever seen a full remainder bar since I started playing...
I have the best mining gear for my rank too. Maybe I'm missing abilities, though.

Yea, ive never seen a full bar, but it doesn't really matter.

Keep in mind your idea of "best gear" is never truely the best gear

there are 3 stats you can focus on

Output(for more chances to hit a node)
Gathering(for more durability)
Perception(for better drops)


To max the dura meter you need alot of gathering, however....thats not exactly the best way to gather when you still want to level, you need output.

So try getting all the best gathering gear, and then go hit on some grade 1 nodes when you are 50 and see what it looks like. It may be a full bar(now why anyone would want to do this is another story)

Yea, im not sure how it works exactly tbh.

Im r50 and have never seen 100% full bar, but then again the cap is only 50 so maybe it will max out at r60, who knows ^^

You shouldn't really need a full bar anyway. The only time i am unable to obtain anything is if im watching tv(spaming enter key) or have hit gathering fatigue.
