MONSTER AI: monster walking into a fight... makes no logic, even in a fantasy world. Linking system is great! i understand much will be changed for patch2.0. Monster AI with monster walking into a fight, not so good. Aside from this, FFXIV into patch1.20 looks really GOOD, keep it ip Yoshi and TEAM

I'll expand on my idea for engaging mob a bit.
Have mobs engage in combat with each other. It doesn't necessarily mean that they will lose hp or anything, but an ai where mobs of the same family, or loner in a camp, would go up to each other and have a little fight animation. What would be cool is if we attacked one the other mob will fight along side us.
Have better movements, not just random. Have some of them be in a small group that travel together. If one is attacked the other will flee and join another group, or they'll just break off.
A bit more animation. Don't just have standing and moving animation. Add some extra idle animations. Perhaps a marmot chases its tail, crabs can clean their eyes, dodos can run and flap their wings pretending to fly, etc.
Interact with weather. Maybe a sheep can shake its fur dry once in awhile in the rain.
Mobs should definitely be more than just higher poly counts & high res texture.
Some of it was cool till the end.... ff should never have jump. And if they add it like they been saying, it may be disappointing. It will take away from the environment and most of the adventuring would be half assed... cutting corners n watnot

I guess it's extra work that they are not putting the resources into now. It would give the world a much lively feel, but ah well.

On a serious note, they did plan to do some of that stuff but they never came to implementing it cause of the shit hitting the fan after release.

Some mobs did it in XI too -- Goblin diggers for example will travel to a spot and stomp the ground like they've ..well buried something lol.
