i agree. the linkshell management is a disaster.
i agree. the linkshell management is a disaster.
I absolutely agree with you OP, especially on point 2). I'm also part of a very active linkshell and because of inactive users (and the fact that our officers can't remove them) we've had to re-form a total of four times now.
Re-forming is an absolute nuisance, it's extremely difficult to manage properly and rarely has as good as an effect as you would hope.
Can't tell you how many times I've heard LS having a re-pearl party or something along the lines because of the lack of control options for Linkshell leaders. This is an aspect of XIV that needs attention asap
Wow. I never experienced that since the alpha tests started, nor heard of it. And as a LS leader I use it a lot ... installation problem perhaps? Or am I just lucky?
I absolutely second that! That's the most critical issue I have and this will lead to trouble soon, at least in my LS, when the cap of 128 players will be hit ... with 90% of them "Taking a break" or not cancelling their account. Please do not wait until numerous linkshells run into emergency situations here.2) For the love of god, allow pearlsack holders and linkshell leaders to boot members from the linkshell without them being online. This is a very large inconvenience when you have inactive members and the only way to free up space in the linkshell is to break the shell and remake it entirely.
And in general, it MUST be possible to remove any linkshell member from the list, without being near a person or the person being online. As leaders of social linkshells we have responsibilities here, so please give us the tools to do our work!
Personal opinion only ... but I think it's quite bewildering how SE seemed to be focused on keeping personal information private and NOT showing information like this, or even supressing it later (like displaying the number of players in the same area).3) Make the linkshell member list more detailed. As in FFXI, display each member's current location, rank, physical level, etc. in addition to whether or not they are online.
And then all private character information is trumpeted out into the internet by the Lodestone. SE should decided what they want and then implement stuff correctly instead of forcing people to have both game and lodestone open for retrieving such basic information.
I fully second that one, too. The LS member management and the /lsmes feature are the most important changes in my opinion, with the member management overdue since the day 1 of the alpha tests.4) /lsmes. We need it. Enough said.
+1
Location and rank are more of an icing on the cake IMO but offline member management and /lsmes are really needed ASAP.
Yes please!
In complete agreement with the OP. These features are sorely needed!
We need this badly
The above is definitely something that SE need to prioritise. Linkshell are commonly used now, and I don't know a single LS leader/sackholder of a LS that hasn't complained about at least one of these issues.Being an officer and pearlsack holder of a large and active linkshell, I can say from experience that there are many issues with the linkshell system that desperately need to be addressed. They include, but are not limited to, as follows:
1) This is an obvious one. Resolve the glitch that frequently (I'd estimate 50% of the time) causes the game to crash when the linkshell member list is opened. This should have been addressed long ago, there's really no excuse.
2) For the love of god, allow pearlsack holders and linkshell leaders to boot members from the linkshell without them being online. This is a very large inconvenience when you have inactive members and the only way to free up space in the linkshell is to break the shell and remake it entirely.
3) Make the linkshell member list more detailed. As in FFXI, display each member's current location, rank, physical level, etc. in addition to whether or not they are online.
4) /lsmes. We need it. Enough said.
Possibly more to come.
For myself, the main points are:
1. Removing/promoting/demoting members regardless of location in game, or whether online/offline. I still think you ought to be physically there to Add someone to the LS for the first time (it's a nice symbolic gesture).
2. /lsmes is important. And this time can you please be allowed to type message of a decent length?
3. Regarding further detail in the LS member list, I would recommend the detail shown in Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO): Member Name, Class, Rank/Level, Location, Online/Offline, Date/Time Last Online. The last one can help LS Leaders/Officers decide whether someone needs to be dropped from a LS for non-attendance or not.
SE, please make LS tweaking a priority. Surely it can't be that hard?!
The fact that this was not in FROM THE START shows how great the original dev team was (Yes, taste the sarcasm)
The fact that this STILL has not been changed since the new team was put in place shows that even the new team is making good strides, they need to start implementing basic functionality that is till missing in this game.
