Legacy person who has read very little - what do I need to do for my open beta/early

So I stayed subbed to get the legacy benefits, and have been looking forward to ARR, but I've tried to not get to excited or spoil too much of it. From what I've read recently, Friday Open Beta and sorta early access is opened to people with Legacy.
Is this going to use the same beta client that has been used and will it turn into retail? I tried to launch it to see if there were pre-patches available but it gives a lot of errors that make me think they switched clients (or have everything turned off).
The other thing, will my sub auto-start again, or will I have to set it back up?

Phase 4 uses different client.

Open Beta starts Friday for Beta phase 3 participants

it is a new client available here yes it will turn into retail

no your sub will not autostart, you will need to set it up again. while the details really haven't change, its no longer through clickandbuy its through SE.
