what will happen after open beta end? will the two forum combined into one?

the thought of having beta forum poster to post in this forum make me shudder, really

Personally, I'd like to see the beta forum look...except replace most of the black w/ dark and light blue. Dev posts could be black with a red Dalamud circle cutting through the bottom right corner.

Just my two gil though.

The beta forums have newer software, or at least a few more options here & there, like being able to search for only dev posts. I hope those features make their way to these forums.

As far as bad behavior, beta posters have more opportunity to be disruptive and anonymous because the forums aren't limited to paying customers. There also seems to be quite a few trollish posters who have obtained multiple beta keys to make large amounts of posts and threads without fear of losing beta access or being identified.

I don't pretend even these forums weren't infamously horrible a year or more ago. Sadly that is likely to return. A lot of the "problem" is having a huge number of users posting, which seems to make many posters try to shout and take extreme positions just to be noticed. Fan forums aren't immune to this, but the smaller population leads to more personal interactions and less abusiveness and trolling.

Exactly. Enjoy the calm while it lasts, the only reason it's been nice here is because the majority is posting at the beta forums. When the payment starts it will become better, but even back in 1.0 the forum and the ingame community were more or less complete opposites.

We should eliminate both of them and use only the Lodestone.

I don't think the BETA forums will be merged with normal forums, the forums will go through an update in redesign.

I personally would be content with just using the Lodestone blogging-ware ^_^ d

Well, I think the Beta forums will be archived and maybe closed, and these will open to the paying masses.

I will miss our quaint, quiet, cordial, happy and virtually private forums when that happens.

I like the new features of the beta forums but looking at black and blue all day kind of gets annoying, I feel like this color scheme is better on the eyes... I hope they have different skins if we prefer this scheme...

They said awhile ago what would happen to the forums. there will be new forums for ARR and these (1.0) and the Beta forums will be made accessible through an Archive.

It would be nice if they had a colour scheme selection. A few forums have this option, although I don't know if this one can support it.

Or better yet, be able to customize the scheme yourself (colours only).
