Pre-order code mistake?

Something just occurred to me.
Many of us here are Legacy.
Will we even need to register the pre-order code prior to early access?
(I know we'll need to register them eventually for our in-game goodies.)

Legacy members won't, but SE opened up posting access to these forums for all v1 during the world transfer process. If VGChartz is to be believed, Legacy members are a small percentage of v1 copies sold. I'm hoping a lot of non-Legacy have pre-ordered and are needing to register their code.
