The 30 day trial will apply to your account.
So there is a special "welcome back" campaign for which details are still to be fully announced, although it looks like a two week period of fixed dates rather than a blanket two weeks free access from when you begin. Actual free access is still tied to the purchase of the game and its application to your service account. So they are two different things.
