It is highly likely you'll be able to download the client early by virtue of early access existing (but nothing has been confirmed as yet). However, early access is dependant on pre-ordering the new version of the game and has nothing to do with the Legacy status.

Free access periods come with copies of the game and again are unrelated to the legacy program.

I apologize for the delay in preparing various announcements.

With the beginning of official service on 8/27, we will be implementing a two-week long Welcome Back Campaign for those of you who have a FFXIV 1.0 service account, regardless if you are a Legacy Member or if you have Collector’s Edition/Standard Edition. During this time period you can try out FFXIV: ARR for free, so please take this opportunity to check out the game!

Once the date draws closer we will be announcing the details on the Lodestone as well as sending out an email from the development team.

Let's say I purchased the the collector's edition for Version 1.0 and also have Legacy status. If I purchase the standard PS3 version and register it to my account, does the 30 day trial apply to my account, or would I have to make a new account.

Ya i forgot that it's a fix 2 weeks and not a 2week free when every you start.
