XIV GameBreaker.tv 7/30/13

Gamebreaker.tv is resurrecting the XIV show. The show will stream live on Tuesday 7/30/13 @ 4pm PST / 7pm EST.

The continued airing of the show will depend on the viewership, so watch if you can. Lets rally as a community and share the world of Eorzea with other gamers.

Lol yeah it existed, I think it was even listed on the lodestone as a recommended Fansite for a bit. But man, you're asking me to remember 3 years ago, when life was broken undergarments and Onion Helms...

What's the show going to be covered?

I don't know the planned layout of the show, but generally they talk about game mechanics, available content, future content and systems and keep the gaming public up to date with all things XIV , which is a big deal for XIV.

I'm curious how they plan to sustain the show, but having established fans of XIV able to respond to the show and other gamers question I think will make a big difference for XIV, word of mouth is powerful.

I remember just a few months ago where the writers at gamebreaker didn't give a rats ass about the game. Constantly putting the 2.0 remake down and not researching anything saying it was going to be garbage. I was trying to find the video they had (think it was in November after the ending trailer and alpha screenshots/videos where released.) But they did not research a damn thing and constantly said how bad the game is going to be. (Edit. found the post on it Gamebreaker.tv Thread.)

I used to watch Gamebreaker.tv all the time. Every show.... I will give them a second chance (I stopped watching them entirely after they started informing players incorrect & poor information about ARR.) I hope Scott Winters (sp?) isn't going to be on the show. He is extremely biased in a negative way about the Final Fantasy Franchise.

Ehn... IDK... Gary sunk resources into a show for a complete train wreck failure of a game (1.0), I can easily see why he would still be skeptical & quick to bash an alpha video (that video was awful btw). Their shows didn't have 2-3 sponsors back then like they do now.

But as time went on and more beta footage came out and those guys got into the beta themselves, the coverage got more & more positive. I thought the new show was fine. They might have gotten a few minor points wrong, but instead of whining on these forums, why not post in the comments on the XIV Reborn page and let them know so they will do a better show next time?

Bottom line is someone who isn't an FF fanboy/girl might see that show and take an interest. For the most part this game is probably going to pull in mostly FF fans, but if an outside outlet can bring in people that might not normally pay attention to the game, then more power to them.
