im just saying what the reviews will most likely say.But it does everything better than what's been done before.
And the battle system is not going to be universally abhorred the way some people think; it's a compromise and that's why people at either end of the spectrum (100% action vs passive) complain about it. For the rest of us it sits comfortably in the middle.
You don't have to do something brand new to get great press or reviews. You can do something that's been done before and do it well and get a 10/10. Look at Mario Galaxy or countless other Square Enix, Nintendo, or Konami games.
the 10/10 games did innovate in there genre in there own way no one did before or they went above and beyond.
I agree with many that it'll be around an 8, just because they'll be thinking it's not innovative enough since they can't tank using PS move. (Innovative? Maybe. Do I want it? NO!) xD

Abducted by aliens? Wearing a subligar for the rest of my days??? *commences writing his own very amature review and scoring a 7 for the additional bonuses.I am pretty much hoping for the same thing!
I'm an optimist, so my estimations shouldn't count, but I'd like to say that many of the major game reviewers will be like "NINE, YEAH BABY!" and even some "TENS! I'M QUITTING EVERYTHING FOR THIS GAME -- WOO HOO DIVORCE COURT!"
The lowest anyone will score is a SEVEN, and those people will be abducted by aliens, and mauled viciously, and forced to wear subligars for the rest of their years...
Ahem!
~~~~POSITIVITY!!!!~~~~
Word.
The official forums are so pleasant to visit. I am glad it isnt the arguing rage fest it used to be.
As for my prediction, i feel reviewers are rather predictable and only will say whats been said already.
The game will get at or slightly above average score (7.5 ish.) The positives will certainly be among things such as "its above and beyond its initial release."
I also feel it will be met with mixed reviews.
Some reviewers will praise its combo/battle system while others strongly degrade its lack of enjoyment after extended play.
Some will say how well the music is composed and how it grabs you, while others will point out the massive silence, and lack of variety.
Some will applaud the feeling of accomplishment in the story and praise its "root of the genre/franchise" while others will laugh at its simple approach and expose its lack of depth.
These arent my opinions exactly just how I feel the game will be met. Its all just speculation and opinion as I am no prophet, but its a topic worth entertaining.
My guess is 7's
I'm more concerned about the type of people that usually critique MMO's. Many seem to be your run of the mill MMO-hopper that has no idea about the depth some of their games they review. They score MMO's like SWTOR really high, but it was bland when you got past the leveling and awesome story and CS'. Then there's TERA that got good scores because of the battle system, but after that it's like Aion sans wings. (obviously that just my opinion). I feel like this is the first well rounded MMO we've seen for quite a while.... the scores people give are really going to depend on their point of view... obviously lol
I'm anxiously looking forward to the reviews.
ya i agree that what pretty much what going to happen.My guess is 7's
Also about score i feel that seeing a score would just give you a biased opinion. Like when 3 people tell you about a movie you end up seeing what they said. I enjoy games base on what i see on videos then i try it out score mean little to me. But seeing how so many people end up playing games due to score i hope FFXIV ARR get at least a 8.0
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Autographed By "Akihiko Yoshida Tarot Card Sweepstakes Winner
On a scale of 1-10, I predict scores averaging around 7.
Mainly because people will criticize how ARR is "borrowing" too many ideas from other MMO's, but will encourage people to try it out regardless because ARR has put it's own spin on those features. As well as having a "generic" battle system, but praising the armory system, and how it affects battle synergy.
I say the average will be around 8. It's polish, graphics, music and story will be praised but some points will be knocked off for having oldschool combat (which isn't bad itself) and not doing much to innovate (again not bad, but you know mainstream reviewers on MMO's).
